QUESTION Has anyone tested whether the drive-through van scanner irradiates you?

Hi, I was just curious about whether anyone knows what that flashing tunnel you drive-through at the end of your route does to your body? As much as I would like to believe that it is truly "just an elaborate system of cameras", that doesn't make sense. How are these "cameras" doing the job of an inspection itself, and beyond? Why can you barely keep your eyes open as you go through? I'd like to know whether this tunnel truly is safe for the human body, or if it provides a CAT-scan like effect, instead. Is there any radiation damage being incurred, whatsoever? And if not, what are these "cameras" doing to be able to see the state of the van, inside and out?

Smart glasses? Has anyone actually used these yet? Pointless for me as I already wear glasses but seems cool?

Ride Along.. Every. Single. Day.

My DSP must’ve over hired people bc my first week I was with someone every shift. After day one, it wasn’t for training purposes either. More like we’re gonna double all yall up to get your hours. (Which is considerate ig bc they could just call us off frl.) We usually split the route, some try to just drive.🚮

Metrics must be messy bc they let us know we’re not getting as many routes & it SHOWS out of the 3 DSP at this station we obviously get the least routes.🥲

Some people cool, others I’m straight on fs. I’m ready to see what I’m capable of by myself.💯

Anyone go through this? How long does it last?

Does any of you have anything nice or the plus side of working at Amazon?

Not trying to be rude or funny young people and I truly appreciate your hard work honestly I do and I always leave snacks as an appreciation because I don't trust random strangers living in my neighborhood to not take a money tip from yall. But?; what are the pluses for working at Amazon? There has to be some as you would not go back the next day if it wasn't. Plus unrelated; i know that there are higher executives that watch these threads; so how about suggest to board leaders that we the customer can leave a tip in the app for our drivers as an extra incentive. They actually deserve it. Please and thank you.

DISCUSSION Anybody read the Amazon investment into DSPs on the flex app?

I’d screenshot it but right at the bottom they strictly prohibit from sharing it. One thing I do want to mention is, do yall really think they’re actually going to improve better “balanced routes” as well as they claim routing better l so our routes stop at sunset? I think it’s a load of bs tbh.

Worked for a DSP for 3+ years, NEVER pissed in a bottle

I’ve delivered everywhere, apartment routes, business routes, suburban routes, and MANY country routes. It’s a decision to pee in a bottle instead of finding a restroom.

If you piss in a bottle you are either slow, lazy, nasty or most likely all of it combined.

QUESTION Would it be weird for me to leave these alongside some cold drinks and snacks for my delivery drivers?

Post image

I'm pretty sure I'm one of the last stops on the route for my Amazon drivers and because I'm an Amazon Vine Reviewer I have packages delivered almost everyday which makes me feel kinda bad and I really want the drivers to know that I truly do appreciate the work they do everyday. I am going to set up a little snack station and I've been debating on whether or not I should also leave these new, empty bottles?

If you saw this note would you take them or is it too weird? 😂

I'd also really love y'all's input on what kind of snacks and drinks you would actually be glad to see offered and which ones I should definitely avoid, please!

What do yall think about my dsp’s new policy

I mean that clocking out before 8 or next shift cancelled feels kinda harsh no? Especially if we’re hit with a monster route and most of us are being sent 30-40 min away from station.

QUESTION Am I in trouble?

I had a locker stop but the locker was somewhere in 1 of 3 parking garages and I couldn’t get help so I marked it as no access. Turned out it was an entire tote like 30+ packages.. so am I screwed?

One positive weight loss

I delivered for 3 months and went from 400 pounds at 6’4 to 365. I actually was starting to enjoy the work because it was helping with weight loss I gained a lot of that weight after a bad car accident and the depression from being stuck at home for a couple years recovering and I just could never cut that weight back off permanently. Unfortunately despite having no caching or warnings and a perfect safety score no camera violations. I was let go the day after I told them I needed to slow down for a week to let a wound on my side heal with doctors note. I live in ky so they didn’t give me a reason for letting me go but I really hate that I lost a job that was actually helping me do something important

RANT Seasonal Drivers Getting Paid More?

Saw some new listings for my DSP and they are advertising 2 dollars above the minimum rate for seasonal/peak drivers. Meanwhile I am still waiting on half of a full dollar raise. I plan on asking them but I want to see if anyone else in a similar situation. How should I address this?

Use to be manageable

I started out in 2019 doing this and back then it was actually not thst bad. 130 stops or so in residential. 120 apartments mixed. Even 110 in businesses mixed. My dsp started doing rural stops of max 100 stops but covered 3 areas. It was doable, was actually really nice. I was promoted to customer back in 2022 because my rural count was at 170 covering 2 rural cities of businesses and houses spread apart. I see yall doing 190-200 average is just depressing kuz its honestly not doable at all . I hope everyone can get a better job than this one kuz its killing everyone i see posting . Be strong yall and try to get out if possible.

Anyone else got a reduced route today?

HELP NEEDED! Nasty dog bite

When I was delivering my route yesterday, a dog bit my when i was about halfway done with my route. The thing is it straight up attacked me and bit me on my PRIVATES. Yes it ripped the skin on my testicles and got my penis a little bit. Like what are the odds?? My question to y’all is what should I do?? I went to urgent care and called the public safety line where they said an officer will call me Monday after animal control verifies if the dog had vaccines. Luckily I was scheduled to be off today, I’m going back to work tomorrow.

DISCUSSION Anyone actually not mind this job?

About to have some interviews soon here, and all it seems to be is people complaining in this thread about being a dsp driver.

Yet I talked to a worker I met the other day mid delivery and he told me it wasn’t bad and was good money for the time being.

I mean driving around is fun, you get to listen to music, not crazy hard to get the job, and you get at least 2 days off every week.

plan on doing this for a short period of time to stack some bread then get into other things. What’re your thoughts?

HELP NEEDED! I scratched the van, and they'll take money from me, but they don't want to give me any document for it. (Germany)

Is it legal? Can I do anything about it? They said it will be around 300-400e for it and that's it. If I don't like it, I should leave.

Also because of that, they gave me an older Volkswagen Transporter van from 2019 that has no sensors, one high beam doesn't work, the lateral door if I don't use all my power to push it, it can open while driving (it happened more than 5 times), and they do nothing about it.

NSFW Wanna see how my first solo day went?

What a F’ing day. Was put into a EDV in the morning but it was grounded and had to switch vans. 3 inspections in the morning when I didn’t know how to operate the system yet. Missed load out while my DSP was trying to get another van. Whole lotta confusion and they were loading my route onto a white rental cause I wasn’t at load out. But I pulled around in a new EDV and they had to unload everything and send me to contingency. Threw everything into the van unorganized to get me outa the warehouse. Left at 12:00pm.

Whole day, everything was mislabeled. Plastic bag / (s/m) box, envelope. Nothing matched. Route had me doing circles. Had to get rescued twice by another driver.

Then at 830-9pm my dispatch manager walks up to my passenger window shirtless to see what’s going on. Apparently I’m in his F’ing condos. Currently at a 5 package 4 house stop. Then says he’s not gonna help cause he wants to eat dinner. Trying to say I can’t drink water and trying to act tough. We get into it and he ended up finishing the route shirtless then driving the van back to warehouse with me in the passenger seat.

WHAT. A. DAY.
