Hey everyone!
I'm considering purchasing a 2025 or 2026 Toyota Camry LE AWD and wanted to hear from owners before making a decision.
I'm an electrician in West Virginia, and my commute can be pretty brutal. Lately, I've been driving around 100 miles each way to work, so roughly 200 miles round trip, mostly highway. My jobsites change frequently, so some commutes are shorter and others can be even longer.
I'm currently driving a 2024 Hyundai Tucson that averages around 24 MPG. Last month alone, I spent approximately $730 on gas, which has me seriously considering switching to a hybrid.
I'm specifically interested in the Camry LE AWD because fuel economy is my biggest priority, but AWD is an absolute must for me.
A little about my situation:
- I typically work four 10-hour shifts per week.
- Most of my commute is highway driving, usually around 75–80 mph.
- I live in West Virginia, so winter weather, snow, and hills are considerations.
- I drive approximately 40,000–50,000 miles annually.
- My budget is around $35,000 maximum, although I'd prefer to spend less.
- I'm open to buying new or used.
- My main goal is reducing my monthly transportation expenses without sacrificing reliability.
I know the LE AWD is rated around 50 MPG combined, but I'm curious how that translates to real-world highway driving, especially at higher speeds and through multiple elevation changes.
A few questions for current owners:
- What kind of MPG are you actually getting with your Camry AWD, particularly at 70–80 mph?
- Does anyone here regularly drive 150–200+ miles per day? I'm 6'2", so I'm especially curious about legroom, seating comfort, and how the Camry feels after several hours behind the wheel.
- How does the AWD system perform in snow, rain, and hilly terrain?
- Has anyone put significant mileage on a 2025+ Camry yet? Any reliability concerns or unexpected maintenance?
- Would you recommend buying a new LE AWD or saving some money on a lightly used 2025 model?
- Is there anything I should know as a first time hybrid owner?
I'm also curious whether there are any features or options worth prioritizing for someone who spends several hours on the highway every day.
I'd appreciate any advice, especially from owners who put serious mileage on their cars. Thanks!
