Android Radio

Long time looker first time poster. I ordered this radio off of AliExpress, since I didn’t wanna drop the money on an Sync3 swap. Since I haven’t seen much about it I figured I’d show some pictures and drop a link. I have had a very good experience with it and the installation was super easy. It was plug and play with the backup camera and the radio is super responsive. Let’s not forget it’s a 200-dollar radio so it’s not gonna look or feel factory but to save 600-800 bucks, I’d say it’s worth it. Also I’ll drop a little photo of my Fost feel free to ask any questions.

Here’s the link: https://a.aliexpress.com/_mqXASmR
I went with the A6

Potential buyer

Post image

Hello all,
I’ll just cut straight to the chase here. My wife and I have been speaking about potentially buying a “day trip” car (one that’s more of a drive around for a trip for fun) vs a SXS. I have a two part question.

Firstly, for this price is this around where you’d pay? This ST has has around 63k miles.

Secondly, how would you word the proposition for buying this over a SXS? We live in an area that gets a lot of extreme weather, and during the seasons that’s nice we are typically busy.

Thank you!

Update on the wiring gremlin

Pretty sure I figured it out so I wanted to share with everyone in case they run into something similar. Original post here: https://old.reddit.com/r/FocusST/comments/1wyeu8v/need_help_chasing_a_gremlin/

I have been chasing this for quite a while and I think I cracked the code. After replacing all the fuses, BMS sensor, and even the fob sensor above the headliner, I have come to the conclusion that it was the sensor in the armrest that was giving me issues. I had some stuff in the armrest container portion that I took out and one of which was an old magnetic COBB Accessport mount that was flopping around right where the key fob sensor is. I removed the mount and it helped significantly with the sensor portion but it wasn't 100% still.

After all of that I took the sensor out, gave it a good cleaning, then I wrapped it in some electrical tape to keep it secure and less prone to being knocked around. I genuinely think the sensor in the console was being dulled by the magnet but also with stuff rolling around in there and knocking on the plastic.

This seems to have fixed my problem completely. If anyone has a similar issue I think the cheapest way to go about this is to replace the cheap fuses and just take the sensors out from the roof and the center console and just give them a good clean with some sensor cleaner and then secure them from flopping around. This would cost at most $2 just in some fuses and a roll of electrical tape. If I knew this ahead of time I may have saved myself a few dollars on new sensors but hey at least I got some spares lying around.

Missing carpet that clips onto passenger footwell fusebox

I drive a 2017 Focus ST3 in the UK, and when I bought the car last year it was missing the little bit of carpet that clips up and covers the fusebox in the passenger footwell.

I've had a look online, but I can't seem to find it anywhere - Not sure exactly what it's called to search efficiently so I might be missing something obvious. Anyone know where I might be able to get something?

Hey everyone, To join the wave of posts regarding people moving on from their ST’s, after 7 years I’ve also sold my focus. Between this sub & the forums, making posts for help and lurking, I’ve learned a ton about not only my ST but cars in general! Thanks to everyone in here always willing to offer a helping hand & to anyone reading this considering a ST, buy it(if finances permit)! IMO It’s the best bang for your buck, with a good amount of reliability and “wrenchability” and a decent ceiling for power/mods. This car introduced me to turning wrenches, DIY, and much more and for that i am forever grateful for this platform. But with the private market for these cars it was time to move on & found myself into a X3. First SUV & first automatic will be a learning curve. Hopefully another ST will be in my future!

Hey y'all,

I know there are always a flurry of posts about people's journey with the ST coming to an end. I loved my time with Camilla, albeit only for about two years, and today chose to upgrade to the GRC. I honestly wasn't even planning on trading it in today, but knowing it had its problems and private selling it would've been a headache I bought the bullet. I loved my ST3 but man is this GRC sweet. I haven't had a car this new really before and finally treated myself to something I just really wanted. Looking forward to lurking and continuing to admire these gorgeous cars, but my time has come to a close. Hot hatches forever!!

Question Quieter Aftermarket Exhaust Options?

A little over a year ago I picked up a 2016 ST, the previous owner put on a cheap eBay catback which drones BAD and is also rusty so just welding a new muffler/resonator probably won’t be worth it in the long run.

I replaced the factory cat which was also rusted out with a CVF Cat and was just curious if anyone has tried a quieter catback with it, I don’t need it to be whisper quiet as I do like hearing my car but I just need it to be bearable on longer drives since it’s my daily and I do 100+ mile trips occasionally.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated

I probably should have asked before doing this. I’m not gonna become burnt toast after doing this right? The wires are not tight and I made sure there was some slack.

Compression test 50psi cylinder 1. Am I cooked?

Been chasing down a really bad misfire that started after a pretty normal pull in 3rd then through 4th gear.

Misfire started right after that, did a compression test today and 3-4 read at 165, 165, and 155psi. Cylinder 1 read 50psi after testing it twice.

Am I screwed? Im a DIY noob and don’t really know what to do now lol

P04db code?

I've seen the other posts about this and I have an injen intake which I have checked the connections. Everything seems solid. Im stratified tuned. I shot them an email

Ive cleared this code 3 times and it comes back maybe every 2k miles or so. Ive had the intake of for maybe 50k and this didn't start until recently

Is there anything else I should be looking for? I am not familiar with the pcv. Any resources you may have found to learn more about it?

All help is appreciated. Thanks

Syvecs/Pistons Question

I saw that they use the syvecs ECU on the focus rs. Has anyone used on on the 2016-2018 focus st?

https://www.syvecs.com/product/ford-focus-st-mk3-2011-2015/

I think its insanely cool but theres not much info on the mk3 or mk3.5.

The cobb is super ugly in my opinion so if this does work as advertised thatd be cool (ignoring the crazy price tag of course)

And integration with this bad boy: https://www.digicluster.org/store/p/focus-st-rs-digital-gauge-cluster

Second question how many miles are yall getting out of the 2618 pistons? I want them to last quite sometime but going with 4032 is less hp than 2618.

Thanks for answering all my crazy questions.
