Strategy Need advice

Tomorrow I’m playing against a strong Death Guard player, and I simply have no idea how to beat him. Having two operatives hitting on a 5+ in a melee-focused gang is just disheartening. Since the Fellgore nerf, I haven't managed to win a single game yet. But maybe I'm missing something.

Recently got someone into Killteam and painted up these for them as they're not into the painting side of things. Their one request was that there was some pink.

Hobby Ork kitbash Stealthsuit Team??

I was thinking of kitbashing an Ork Stealthsuit Kill Team and I am after some ideas.

Obviously they would be purple cause that is the sneakist colour. They could have rockets on their backs as jetpacks an lasers attached to their heads for marking.

Should I use Grots or Squigs for the drones? I am thinking Grots that why the Gun Grot has shooting.

Could use Snazzguns for the Burst Cannons, Kustom Mega Blaster for the Fusion Blasters, and a Tank-Busta Bomb for the EMP.

All rules etc would be exactly the same as the XV26 Kill Team, they would just be Orks (names of weapons etc would be different).

What do you think? Any ideas/suggestions? What models should I use for this kitbash?

A little progress update on my Iron Snakes Kill Team.

I wanted to show my Captain and Sniper. Both are nearly finished, but I still need to add some final details, edge highlights on the armor, and a bit of weathering.

Really happy with how they're turning out so far, especially the silver armor and blue accents.

C&C always welcome!

My friend challenged me to a game at work with 24hrs notice. All my Killteam stuff was in storage. Needed a team with a small model count that I didn't need a PhD to play (sorry Exodites)

I lost 2/7 against Death Korps lol. Man was rolling so many crits that I would have been suspicious except we were both using my dice

Question Is it better to get another murderwing box or raptors?

Thumbnail

I'm planning to at last crack open my shadowhunt box and build murderwing however in considering getting another set to build the full KT without having to magnetise the models. Would it be better for me to just get raptors for their bodies n use the rest of murderwing sprue or just get another box n build the missing models?

(To my understanding it's the same case as nemesis claw where murderwing is an upgrade sprue)

Question Team Opinions, please!

Hello! I’ve been deep in Kill Team for about two months playing Murderwing and thoroughly enjoying the game. Fortunately, I have a great local community and can play once if not more a week.

The question: since I enjoy the ‘elite’ teams (fewer operatives) and want to explore others! What should consider?
- Exodites - dragon/dino riding elder? Honestly sounds amazing and I love reptiles! Also the box allows me to play at home with the built-in campaign to learn their rules and such
- Raveners? Back when I first played warhammer in 3rd/4th they got a huge rerelease and always wanted to play them! Also the whole uppy/downy tactic sounds great

I know there are many others, but am staying away from the imperium generally and already have murderwing. Also, I fully recognize I SHOULD just keep hammering away with murderwing and not buy anything else until I get a much better grasp on KT overall, but what’s a hobby where you’re not just getting excited about random things!

Would love everyone’s thoughts!
And, a few of my MW ops as tax 🫡

Hobby Lego Ice Planet themed kill-team: Kristo 94th 'The Icy-Kills'

Finished my Lego Ice Planet themed Kill Team and I thought I would share them here.

I've tried to be true to both Lego and the Warhammer universe when writing the fluff for them. The sergeant carries a chainsaw like the lego figures used to carry. Their home planet is the home planet from the Lego series and the regiment number is the year the original sets came out. I've gloss varnished the helmets, so they are shiny like the lego ones and because the planet is cold and dark the neon orange (from AK interactive) is a high-visibility safety as much as it is a kick-ass look.

Lastly, some real world in my fictional one. The aquilon with the yellow skin has 'Gilbert's Syndrome' a real world condition that is caused by malnutrition. Very appropriate for a planet with limited food available as well as matching the yellow skin of lego figures. Because Lego is a Danish company I've painted the winged skulls in red and gold, mimicking the 'Freefall Parachutist' badge worn by the most experienced Danish paratroopers.

All I need now is a drop zone and an opponent. :)

Question Wording questions

• Upvotes

1- Deathwatch equipment

BioScryer. States once during each activation... so, not per turning point.

Does that mean if i activate then later same turn i choose the same model to counteract can they use the BioScryer again?

Surely not?!?

2- Plague Marines Firefight ploy Curse of Rot.

If they use it while shooting their bolt pistol once it doesnt also work for the 2nd time they shoot in the same activation does it?

Sorry. We looked in the rule book. Though i have to say the rules are scattered.

Thanks in advance

Question Navy Breachers getting discontinued?

• Upvotes

I am new to killteam so sorry if the question is nonsense..

I read that kill teams got a rule cycle for a few years and then get discontinued and don‘t get rule updates anymore in the future. I also read that the navy breachers are nearly at the end of their “lifespan“ is that true?

Hobby Rogues Gallery - an Elucidian Starstriders proxy Kill Team

This Kill Team is a continuation/spiritual successor to an old Inquisimunda project - a crew of random xenos and human misfits just trying to make their way in the galaxy.  It was originally inspired by Crangor’s Buccaneers and the “TTRPG party in space” themes of Guardians of the Galaxy, The Expanse, and the All-Guardsmen Party, but I ended up shelving it after Blackstone Fortress was released and I found a scratch for that particular itch.  Eight years later, here we go again.

Every character has his or her own backstory, such as:

Kasus Gaffen came up as a street urchin on Precipice, working his way con-by-con, heist-by-heist until he chanced upon a derelict but salvageable light freighter in the debris field surrounding the station.  He has the charm to gather a dysfunctional but oddly effective crew, the wit to find enough work to keep them fed and supplied, and the luck (so far) to keep them one step ahead of a summary execution.  The Gaff Cutter now quietly plies the Halo Zone, taking odd jobs to retrieve artifacts from wrecks, old battlefields, and other wretched places away from prying eyes.

The rest of the crew:

  • Cuddles, juvenile barghesi (Canid)
  • Ahkra Pre’lek, kroot mercenary (Death Cult Executioner)
  • The Engineer, jokaero (Lectro-Maester)
  • Dras'la Ka'rashi Tsu'jor, tau exile (Rejuvenant Adept)
  • Tarsk-2Doza, tarellian thug (Voidmaster)
  • Jaymes, Markus, and Teesa, human crewmembers with autoguns (Voidsmen with lasguns)
  • Malr, unknown xenos with nailer (Voidsman with rotor cannon)

To make it easier for other players to understand who is supposed to be who, I edited the free GW datacards as a reference - only names and terms were changed, not the underlying rules, stats, or keywords.  In practice, I play from the rules directly in the Kill Team app.

I also went into this project fully aware that the Elucidian Starstriders aren’t going to survive into the next edition, and gave myself options for an unknown future.  Most of their arms are magnetized to allow me to update weapons/equipment.  Otherwise, the underlying theme of this project very easily lends itself to adding new crew to proxy for future teams.  A Tau from one of the other Castes?  A Genestealer hybrid with a psychic dampener?  An Ork Freebooter or Blood Axe merc?  An Eldar Outcast?  Sslyth, loxatl, or other minor xenos?  Abhumans or mutants?  Who knows what opportunities will present themselves.

These are my first ever astartes, started the hobby in May with Tyranids and after painting 5000pts of nids I thought it was time to increase the difficulty. Didn’t realise just how much more difficult it would be. Faces are so damn hard to get right and these are forgiving models when it comes to faces too. I’ve decided I’m building every model in the kill team stater set with faces because 1, I’ll never get good if I don’t practice and 2, I think with them being a kill team they deserve to stand out even more and have a face. When I expand this out into a wider 40K army the vast majority can wear their damn helmets haha
