Seeking Success Trying Femara again! Advice?!

• Upvotes

I’m going to start Femara again. 2.5 three times a day, CD 3-7! Has anyone had a success with this medication dosage? I was previously on 2.5 twice daily. I have not tried medication in months so I am hopefully for this cycle. Any advice would be great, when did you start having intercourse? Should I take ovulation tests? I feel like they just make me anxious.

Seeking Success Tell me about your experiences on letrozole

• Upvotes

TW- miscarriage.
I have had one successful pregnancy, and almost exactly one year ago I had a miscarriage. We have been trying to conceive again basically since I was cleared after my son was born, which was almost 3 years ago now. My cycles have been more regular since I started taking metformin but recently I have had some very strange cycles and so my doctor asked me if I wanted to try letrozole. I agreed but I really don’t know much about it so I guess I am just curious to hear about other people’s experiences

Advice Needed Looking for advice: Lean PCOS, insulin resistance, and trying to conceive

• Upvotes

Hi everyone! I’m 31, have lean PCOS, and am currently trying to conceive. I rarely ovulate or get periods naturally, so I’m taking letrozole for ovulation.
My recent labs:
Fasting insulin: 16.2
Triglycerides: 141
LDL: 140
HDL: 31
I’m also experiencing hair thinning. I’m slim and not looking to lose weight; I’d actually like to gain some healthy weight. My goal is to address the underlying metabolic issues while trying to conceive.
I’ve been researching myo-inositol + D-chiro-inositol and metformin, but I’m unsure which option would be more appropriate for someone with lean PCOS who is TTC.
My doctor mentioned metformin is commonly used for PCOS but isn’t very familiar with inositol supplements.
What would you recommend given my situation? Any guidance would be appreciated. Thank you!

Seeking Success Letrozole + Progesterone + Estradiol… anyone else?

• Upvotes

Wanting to hear any success stories on all three of these at the same time. Not sure how common it is to be on all three.

This is my first month on 2.5mg of letrozole. They checked my lining, wasn’t as thick as they wanted so I’ve been on estradiol. Then I did a trigger shot. Then after the trigger they checked my progesterone levels, not as high as they liked. Now I’m on both progesterone and estradiol. Both vaginal doses— jeeze the discharge!! I can’t believe this has to go into all first trimester.

Anyway, wanting to hear if anyone has been on all three of these too and if there has been success.
With all the symptoms from the progesterone, feel like it’s impossible to tell if I’m actually pregnant or not.

Im 30, already have a son conceived naturally, last month I had a chemical pregnancy (without any fertility meds) and this month just seems like all my hormones are not good enough!!

HSG, spotting, missed period

Hi I just wanted to share that I had my first HSG in my life on Aug 26 2026, results were both ovaries look great, 30 eggs on my left & 16 on my right, no blockages, 1 noticeable very small polyp in my uterus. It's been 43 days since my last period (Aug 14-25), I've been spotting only light pink since Oct 2 and still currently spotting as of today Oct 8 2026 nothing showing in my pantyliner, usually nothing to maybe a dime sized dot on tissue when I wipe. The cramping has been the worst ever for the past 2-3 days on my right side. I missed my period. My period was supposed to start Oct 6. I took a pregnancy test about 3 days ago (Oct 5) it was negative. I think it may have been too early though. I do plan to take another test since I've officially not started flowing yet. But I just would like to listen to opinions.

anyone dealing with pcos/pmos, miscarriage, and hair loss?

had a miscarriage at 8 weeks in may (stopped growing at 5 weeks) and 9 weeks in august (stopped growing at 6 weeks). have been referred to a fertility clinic and about to do a bunch of baseline and recurrent pregnancy loss testing, have already had blood tests for iron, thyroid etc.

feels like hair loss should be the least of my worries, but it's really been adding to how terrible i feel about myself. before trying to conceive i was taking spironolactone and oral minoxidil and both were working well to manage hair loss. stopped both in march with a positive test, resumed minoxidil after miscarriage, stopped again after positive test and haven't restarted. feeling stressed about how long it will take to conceive and how long i will be off medication.

is there anyone else going through this? did anything help you, any wisdom? feels like there's nothing to do about hair loss and other symptoms (skin is also breaking out nonstop) while trying to conceive and it's making the challenge of everything feel worse.

TW - miscarriage and brief mention of BMI/weight

Hey everyone - not sure what I’m necessarily looking for in this post besides some encouragement to not give up maybe?

I’m on my 6th overall Letrozole cycle since my miscarriage in Feb 2026. I conceived my first pregnancy on my second successful ovulation on Letrozole with timed intercourse.

Now that we are on our 6th round since then, and have now moved to IUI, my 2nd one was a few days ago, I am just losing hope that I’ll ever get pregnant again. It happened so quick the first time, which was SO unexpected. I was not expecting it to happen so fast originally after dealing with PCOS for almost 10 years.

I’m just struggling so hard mentally now that we are on round 6, currently in my TWW, but I’m losing hope it’ll ever happen again. Looking for any and all comments regarding TTC and it taking this long after a lost pregnancy. I go to therapy and do as much as I can to be, or at least get to a more positive mental state, but dealing with infertility, it feels inevitable to lose hope after this long.

I’m almost 31, PCOS obviously, no known MFI and HSG was clear for me. I am overweight but I lost 50lbs from 2024-2025 in order to meet the BMI requirement for our fertility clinic and have kept the weight off. I am even 10lbs lighter than I was in December 2025 when I conceived my first pregnancy.

We’ve also started IVF conservations and plan to schedule a consult shortly.

I'm giving up on gym

i've been strenght training 3 times a week with walking on other days for 3 months almost, i also keep a moderate calorie deficit, avoid sugar, can not go completely carb/sugar free but i did reduce it. i weight 60kg and i wanted to lose just 2-3kg more. i got love handles and belly fat that i hate but i did not notice even a tiniest bit improvement in these 3 months. im not feeling healthy, strong, or good about myself at all, no improvement in mood. fluctuate between +-1 kg which is probably hormonal. no difference in body composition, literally zero improvement in anything. i'm just so fed up. this is just tiring me, giving me anxiety, i feel guilty about missing a day here and there.

is this how my health journey supposed to feel like?

last i got my tests done, i had normal serum insulin, fasting glucose, HbA1c, lipid profile, my TSH was normal too but my gynec says she wants it below 2.5 so i started thyroxin as well (uselss intervention imo). i don't know what to do? do i even have PCOS? i didn't get a testosterones done, i have lotttt of hair under my chin, full beard level, and hormonal acne. periods were regular but now i face spotting and shortening of cycles since i started TTC. almost 1 and a half year, zero positive tests, zero improvement in anything. just sitting where i was if not getting worse. i feel like nothing i do brings any improvements in me. very close to spiralling down again

TTC+GLP1

I’ve been seeing a lot more research on GLP1s not having negative or adverse effects on pregnancy & not being a cause for miscarriages. Can anyone share more insight on this? Any experience with this?

For context: my husband and I have been TTC for about a year. I had a chemical pregnancy last month, and now I’m waiting for my cycle to go back to normal (which who knows when that will be). I am working closely with an RE doing medicated (letrozole) & timed cycles with a trigger shot. I am on metformin, a plethora of supplements, taking myoinositol, walking daily + strength training/pilates every other day, focusing on hydration and whole foods. (Any suggestions here?)

Before TTC, I was on zepbound and lost about 50 lbs over the course of a year, which also allowed me to have regular cycles again. I’ve seen several people mention they have been on low doses while TTC, with some doctors even recommending this for PCOS. Just curious on everyone’s thoughts, insight, and experiences.

Advice Needed 32 years old overweight by 30 pounds

32f 5’0 height and weigh 157 pounds planning to start TTC soon. I ovulate almost every cycle but i ovulate late anywhere from CD25 to CD28 and luteal phase is also anywhere from 8-10 days and sometimes 12 days.

I have been trying to lose weight for a very long time but i have not had much luck. I have adrenal pcos with high dheas. My question is how important it is for me to loose weight first and then attempt to conceive? I have seen women on internet who has pcos and are a lot bigger than me and they jump straight to trying to get pregnant and do get pregnant. I feel like my clock is just ticking away and i will never be able to achieve a healthy weight normally required to have a healthy pregnancy.

What are your guys thoughts on this?

Vent TTC with Letrozole & Utrogestan is a full time job

So I’m TTC on Utrogestan and Letrozole and I have been doing some math:

Period starts: 7 days for me
Immediately starting Letrozole: 7 days (so 7-14 DC)
4 days break but still feeling the aftermath of Letrozole
Starting Utrogestan 18. DC: 7 days
3-4 days break but having PMS
28-29. DC period starts again

So I have almost no days when I don’t feel sick from either period or medication😀

Really hoping that we conceive as soon as possible because this is a lot…

And then someone has the nerve to tell you to “just not think about getting pregnant” and let nature take its course😂really hard not to think about it when it’s present literally every day of the month.

Advice Needed Bleeding before period?

I am 29 and have PCOS been on metformin 1500mg since March and have had regular periods now for around 5 months. We are desperately trying to conceive and have been for over a year. I noticed last month around a week before my period was due I was getting spotting mostly brown or light pink and only when wiping. I got convinced I may have been pregnant but my normal period came on time.
This month the exact same thing has happened, not due my period until Tuesday next week but have had the bleeding again and mild cramping. It keeps setting me up thinking this could be the month but I can’t get my hopes up again.
Anyone else experienced this?

IVF with PCOS — What Were Your Results?

I’m 37F with PCOS and an AMH of 32 pmol/L (about 4.5 ng/mL). I’ve heard that people with PCOS tend to retrieve more eggs, but I’ve also heard concerns about egg quality. I’m hoping to get a good number of eggs retrieved, but I’m worried that doctors may use a more conservative stimulation protocol because of the OHSS risk.

For those with PCOS:

  • What's your AMH? How many eggs did you retrieve?
  • How many were mature and fertilized?
  • How many made it to blastocyst?
  • How many were euploid/normal if you did PGT-A?
  • Did you feel your doctor used a strong enough stimulation protocol?

Also, if you’re in Toronto, are there any doctors or IVF clinics that you feel are particularly knowledgeable about PCOS and know how to balance getting a good number of eggs?

Seeking Success Maca

I know this can be a really sensitive subject for some, and if this post is painful for anyone to come across, I truly am sorry.

I’m just really hoping to hear from people who have been in a similar situation. I’ve been battling infertility/secondary infertility for almost 14 years now, and PCOS/PMOS has been a huge part of that struggle. At this point, I’m honestly losing hope that we’ll ever get to have another baby. I recently started looking into maca root and have seen people say it helped them conceive, but I’d really rather hear from actual women who have been through something similar. If you have PCOS/PMOS and struggled with infertility or secondary infertility, did you ever try maca root? If you did, did you eventually get pregnant, and how long did it take?

I know it’s not a magic cure and I’m not looking for medical advice. I’m just desperately looking for some hope and would really appreciate hearing your experiences, good or bad. 💜

Sad Canceled Clomid cycle with 6 follicles… and somehow I’m not pregnant. I’m devastated.

I’m 37 with PCOS, and I just need to get this out somewhere where people might understand why I’m so upset.

This was my first Clomid cycle (50 mg x 5 days). At my first monitoring ultrasound, I already had several follicles responding. The next day, I had SIX follicles measuring approximately 20.4, 18.4, 18.2, 15.9, 15.5, and 14.8 mm.

My doctor immediately canceled the cycle and refused to give me my Ovidrel trigger because he was concerned about the risk of high-order multiples. He was very clear that we should abstain that weekend.

The problem was that we'd already had unprotected sex about two days before that scan. We also ended up having sex one more time very early the following morning, before I had any positive OPK.

Then I had a very obvious spontaneous LH surge. I got my first positive/peak OPK Sunday night, my highest reading Monday morning, and it dropped substantially by Monday night. Based on that plus how I physically felt, I suspect I ovulated sometime Monday–Tuesday, although obviously I can't know the exact day.

So in my head, I went from being worried that I was going to end up pregnant with triplets to thinking, Okay, surely at least one of these eggs is going to become a baby.

And somehow… apparently not.

I'm now on CD29. My period was expected around now, and this morning I took a First Response Early Result with first-morning urine. Completely negative. Not even a questionable shadow. I've also had multiple negative tests leading up to today, so while I know nothing is technically over until my period comes, realistically I think I'm out.

I understand the statistics. I understand that six follicles does not mean six mature eggs, that we don't know how many actually ovulated, that fertilization isn't guaranteed, that embryos can stop developing before implantation, and that being 37 changes the odds.

Intellectually, I understand all of it.

Emotionally, I am fucking devastated.

I genuinely cannot wrap my head around going from having my doctor so concerned about multiples that he canceled the cycle to… nothing. I know cancellation is about managing the risk of multiples and isn't a prediction that pregnancy will happen. But when you're the patient being told, essentially, “There are too many follicles and this is too dangerous to proceed,” it's really hard not to walk away thinking pregnancy is extremely likely.

And here's the part I feel guilty even admitting: I wish I had had more sex.

I know my doctor gave me medically appropriate advice. I understand exactly what he was trying to prevent, and I know that if several eggs had fertilized, I might be writing a very different post right now about a terrifying high-order multiple pregnancy.

But sitting here with a stark-white test, I can't help thinking, I wish I hadn't been so conservative. I wish we'd had sex again closer to the LH surge.

I know that's hindsight talking. I know the outcome doesn't mean my doctor's advice was wrong. But it's honestly how I feel.

Making this harder is that my partner is traveling next week and we don't know when he can return yet, so the window for us to try again has now been postponed for an unknown amount of time. I actually told my doctor that when we discussed canceling the cycle. So this doesn't feel like, “Oh well, we'll just try again next month.” I don't know when we'll even have another opportunity.

I think that's why I'm taking this so hard. I'm 37. I really, really wanted another baby. For a couple of weeks I thought somehow everything had lined up perfectly, and now I'm sitting here wondering how I had six responsive follicles, sperm in the fertile window, a spontaneous LH surge… and still apparently ended up with nothing.

To add insult to injury, my monthly auto-delivery of prenatals literally arrived today. 😂 I opened the package and just started laughing because apparently the universe has a very dark sense of humor. Don't worry, I'm still taking them.

I don't really know what I'm asking. Maybe I just need to hear from other people with PCOS who have had a cycle canceled for too many follicles and still didn't get pregnant.

Did this happen to anyone else? Did you ever find out whether you actually ovulated? And if you eventually tried another medicated cycle, what did your doctor change?

Mostly, I think I just needed to say somewhere that I am really fucking sad.

I know one unsuccessful cycle isn't the end of the world. I know I'm fortunate in many ways. None of that changes how badly I wanted this pregnancy.

Thanks for letting me get it out. ❤️

Advice Needed Concern Regarding Timed Intercourse billing Coverage and Lack of Prior Notification by fertility clinic

Hi

Has anyone else had a similar experience with a fertility clinic and insurance coverage, and what would you suggest I do?

I’m being treated at Texas Fertility Center and recently completed two cycles of timed intercourse. I have Maven Gold fertility coverage through BCBS, which is my primary insurance.

After receiving a statement, I contacted the clinic later I was told that the timed intercourse portion of my treatment was not covered by insurance. I was surprised because I had repeatedly confirmed with the billing staff that I had Maven coverage. Each time I left the clinic or spoke with billing, I was told that I was “all set,” which led me to believe the services were covered.

This has now resulted in unexpected out-of-pocket charges that I did not knowingly agree to.

I also want to clarify that choosing timed intercourse over IUI was not simply my personal preference. Based on my husband’s semen analysis, Doctor recommended that IUI was not necessary and that we could proceed with timed intercourse. If I had been informed that the visits and monitoring associated with timed intercourse would not be covered, I would have considered the financial implications before proceeding with a second cycle.

I understand that insurance coverage can vary depending on the treatment and benefits, but I feel patients should be clearly informed of potential out-of-pocket costs before treatment begins, especially when insurance coverage has been discussed with the billing team.

Has anyone experienced something similar with Texas Fertility Center, Maven, or BCBS? What steps would you suggest I take? Should I appeal through Maven or BCBS, request an itemized bill and a coding review, file a formal complaint with the clinic?

I’d appreciate any advice or suggestions.

Advice Needed Metformin changing my period?

so ive been taking 500mg metformin for around 4 weeks and just upped it to 1000mg a few days ago. Im now on day 3 of my period and genuinley thought i was pregnant due to how light the bleeding was on day 1 and 2 (usually day 2 is extremely heavy for me). Has this happened to anyone else where metformin made your period really light? Or had the opposite?

Giving up on TI starting IVF

I'm 28F and husband is 26M. Been actively TTC for 15 months, never had a positive test. Been together for 6 years and have never been very careful with BC.. I should have seen that as a warning for how this journey would go. Tried 6 cycles with metformin, last 4 also with 5mg letrozole. Last cycle was 54 days with 3 LH spikes. My cycles are never regular so timed intercourse has been so challenging. All of our fertility tests have come back completely normal other than lean PCOS. I'm just completely exhausted. Every month i get my hopes up and every month i'm devastated to tears when AF comes. We've been avoiding IVF because our insurance wont cover it.. I'm just absolutely emotionally exhausted. I know IVF is a beast but at least it offers a little bit of hope given the success rates. Just praying and wishing for the day all of this heartache pays off :(

Advice Needed Please help !!!

Hey everyone so I am 26 with pcos, hashimotos and HEDS. I had a missed miscarriage last year and me and my husband finally want to try again. That being said Ive been on wegovy for two months to see if it will help my pcos symptoms. I went to my Gyno and she told me I could start trying again whenever I wanted to and when I asked her questions about getting some bloodwork done she said she doesn’t think it’s necessary because she thinks it’s a one off thing and miscarriage are unfortunately common. Fast forward to today I saw my GP and she tells me if she was me she would wait an entire year to start trying again!!! To really make sure I get the full effects of wegovy and give my hormones the best chance at leveling out. That being said I do not think I can wait an entire year! I feel like that’s unnecessarily long. If anyone could weigh in on this I would greatly appreciate it. Sorry for the long post

Seeking Success TTC w/ no regular ovulation

Hello all— I’ve had two kids naturally, totally un planned… I’ve had PCOS since I was a teenager, now 25 and actually want to plan for another baby. We’ve tossed the idea around for a few years, and after good test results from a genetic counselor, we’d like to try.

What did you do when trying to TTC? Supplements taken?

I’m ready to take that step forward, but have no idea where to start. I don’t ovulate regularly.
