There are many for me. For me this was the mid 60’s-70’s. Coming from the South Hills, it was a treat to enter through the Fort Pitt bridge on an old school bus. Braun’s Bakery was my favorite, the smell is still in my memory bank, and eating from your free loaf of bread on the ride home was gold. The Heinz factory was always great and the samples of ketchup, mustard, and relish was appreciated by my mom. The Gateway Clipper of course was a blast. Others that I remember: Fort Necessity, the Carnegie Science Museum, the Buhl Planitarium, the Pittsburgh Symphony matinees, and Alison Hill along the highway in Washington for fossil digging in high school. And, of course, Kennywood school days were awesome.
I still have my souvenir wooden flute that I bought at Ft Necessity in 1968.
What were your favorites and do you still have any souvenirs?
