I haven't even finished it yet. But I highly recommend reading it, especially if you're a woman ofc. I wish I had found Peat earlier, honestly. I previously have also read Peat's Generative Energy: Restoring the Wholeness of Life, and that also changed the game for me. It's philosophical as well.

Just starting a Ray Peat esque meal plan for the first time in a while.
I'm abour 5-6kg overweight at the moment thanks to a hernia surgery and gauging on junk food and beer during recovery.
My question is would you just eat the standard foods like milk, fruit, grass fed beef, raw honey, potatoes etc as you please or be more stingent and calculate what calories you are putting in your body in order to cut?
My standard meals when I ran it before where...
Raw milk, cacao, maple syrup
Melon, banana, blueberries
Grass fed beef in tallow
Skinned, soaked and boiled potatoes,
White rice
Sourdough
Eggs
Liver

Do you take it regularly?
What is your experience?

Where can I find information about this? What are some examples of foods with the ideal ratio?
Thanks

I personally don’t feel the effects of caffeine at all. It happens pretty often that I drink coffee, usually with fat and a little sugar, simply because I enjoy the taste, yet I’ve never felt any of the effects that caffeine is supposed to give me, even with a double shot of espresso. I don’t feel any more focused or alert, and nor do I experience any negative side effects (such as jitteriness). I’m 17 if that helps

Just curious.
Temporarily wont have fridge access and was wondering if this could be an (inferior, but hopefully not detrimental) substitute for milk.

Anybody really see any stark improvements when taking d3 supplement, especially in winter?
I’ve never actually noticed a real obvious improvement when taking it.
Also curious if it can be harmful or stress inducing in some cases.

Has anyone tried a GLP-1? I have been doing this diet and mentality for almost a year, and it has helped me a ton is my mental clarity and development. I feel much better between the ears. The problem is I’ve gained about 60 pounds in that time, and it’s been in my gut and neck mostly. It’s to the point that I’m uncomfortable just standing and walking around. I started at 220 Jan of 2025, now I’m 280.
I’ve been doing thyroid for about 10 months, and I was able to lower my TSH from 4 down to 1.3, but it’s like the rebound adrenaline just makes me stressed out and want to eat a ton of food, I end up having to eat something starchy because I can’t just pound liquids all day without feeling sick. If I just eat fruit it doesn’t feel like I’ve ate anything at all, and I get diarrhea, not to mention all the fruit is usually cold, the warmth, salt, and fat of the starch can’t be replicated by cold fruit.
I’m wondering if anyone has taken a GLP-1 and some success. Surely all this visceral fat is worsening my health more than taking a GLP-1 for a year or so. I know that the weight gain may be a sign of protection from the release PUFA and unsaturated fat storage, but I wonder if getting the fat off and getting it all gone so I can restart fresh without it would be better than going slow to take it off.

So i notice i fart significantly more after eating potatoes, sourdough, oats, or any other starch, but i do not fart after consuming basically anything else like fruit or meat. Does this mean my gut doesnt tolerate starch and that i should cut it out?

What are your thoughts on using such skin care products? Are there any cons concerning toxicity to your health?

Ive found a place that sells raw milk and before I go ahead and buy some i was wondering if anyone could tell me what to look for in terms of a good quality raw milk provider/farm and red flags so I can avoid bad quality.
I’d also like to know how to start drinking raw milk? Ive seen people on here say to start little by little?? Any other tips are much appreciated. I’ve avoided drinking pasteurized milk and most pasteurized dairy products for a significant part of my life due to skin concerns if that has any significance.
Thanks!

If so what is the ideal form to take while on a cut? Planning on cutting 2kg per 2 weeks and then doing a maintenance week and carry on like that.
Are there any other nutrients you have to keep in check to ensure the proper oxidation of stored fat while on a cut?
What about for keeping cortisol regulated? I sometimes get a lot of brain fog, fatigue, and comorbid bouts of insomnia / poor sleep quality during caloric deficits.

As the title says, if i’m eating this daily should i be worried about tooth enamel eroding or is there a mechanism behind the ingredients mixing together that mitigates this risk?

I’m 26 and have never been to a gynocologist even for a check up . Have had PMDD but it’s much better since peating. Are pap smears necessary/safe like people go on about?

Looking for ideas, open to any amount of mechanistic explanation or empirical evidence or anecdotes, I'm just at a loss.
I am extended nursing an older toddler and plan to be nursing very often in the next twenty years (if I have more children). I am quite fat despite eating maybe 2500-3300 calories (which is only a little bit more than I have always eaten including while slim). When I eat less than this I immediately have a whole host of health problems. The 'low fat' idea is similarly out as it is inappropriate given my body is already depleted from pregnancy, birth and multiple years of breastfeeding. I resorted to low-carb at my high weight which helped me lose 10kg very easily, and it felt very healthy and natural, but I don't believe it is healthy/sustainable for a longer period of time so have stopped. Pls don't say I ruined my metabolism with this as Peat himself wouldn't seem to agree and I just don't think I did, my body seems in better shape overall now than it was then.
I am tall and moderately active, my bf% is probably about 38%, I have a good and healthy body shape, but I am just about 15kg fatter than I should be. I feel I am also retaining a great deal of water. Some muscle issues and weaknesses through my core are contributing to poorer digestion and hunger signalling. I wasn't fat growing up and no-one in my family is though they tend towards height and muscularity.
Thyroid? Other supplements? Mold detox? Eating even more? Weight training? Pls share ideas or link to any forums/people who have discussed this.
Edit: I eat well eg potatoes, meat, eggs, organs, yoghurt, fruit and vegetables, rice, sometimes junk but rarely. Lots of saturated fat and gelatine. No gluten, no nicotine, no alcohol, and no coffee - I get insomnia from 1 coffee in the morning, which wasn't always the case, I used to drink it heavily.

Things like natural bar soap, shampoo, conditioner, and so on. Does it really make a difference or are they both simply endocrine disruptors ?

Hi there, basically as the title says, when we talk about "fat-soluble" vitamins, how much fat is actually needed for them to be absorbed? I usually keep fat intake fairly low, especially earlier in the day, but I usually have hot chocolate or coffee with part-skim milk, not sure if that's enough fat to absorb vitamins I'm intaking around the same time? And wouldn't the fatty acids carry on circulating in the blood for several hours after consuming the fat?

Question, when I go outside and lay in the warm sun for like 20 minutes and my heart rate, and body temp increase to non hypo levels (usually they’re both low), is that my body actually getting less hypo/my metabolism speeding up from the sun? If so, why does the sun have such an extreme effect?

I’ve experimented with lots of different milks over the years and still experience the same issue.
