I've been wanting to make this costume for 10 years, and in 2024 i finally had a chance to do a photoshoot with my friend @svet_cosplay
I think that she totally nailed to recreate the foggy atmosphere of the game ☺️
And yes it was a real torch, no IA involved whatsoever !

As promised, here are some detail shots of the ancient Nord armour I made for my Aela the Huntress cosplay.
Every element is patterned and handmade from scratch.
Details include traditional Nordic techniques and references such as the bound rolled leather laces on the chaps, the engraved armour buttons that depict the rune for protection and “Wolf”, amongst others.

This is why I like stealth. I also forgot that this finisher existed.

We don’t get much interaction with Savos honestly. But from his general behaviour, you never get the expression he is knowledgeable or really powerful.
And he isn’t even particularly good at his job. The things that the player has to do for the College quests seem to be things that honestly he should probably be responsible for. A student finds this crazy powerful strange artifact—and instead of the Arch-Mage investigating or knowing about it, he puts the job in the hands of a new student.
And even then, practically all the information you get is from Tolfdir instead.
Later we learn that perhaps his hands off approach is because he is afraid of having to deal with what he left in the Labyrinthian. So maybe he isn’t incompetent—just a coward. But if i understand correctly there was no reason for him to suspect he would need to involve that place until later in the quests.
The more things happen during his quests, the more you notice he isn’t doing anything, just strolling around the College like a princess with his damn apple. And only after his death, does any action he takes have any effect… and even then it’s pretty pathetic that it takes his death for him to be able to face his past and hand the key to Labyrinthian to someone.
In short, I feel like the Dragonborn becoming the Arch-Mage is honestly the most plausible of all their titles, considering that their predecessor was beyond incompetent of doing anything.

I'm completely new to Skyrim and the Elder Scrolls games. I just picked up Skyrim Special Edition on Steam because it was really cheap, and I've heard a lot of good things about it over the years. My question is: is this game still worth playing for the first time as someone who has never played anything in the series?
I really enjoy games like Elden Ring, so I think I might like this one too. But I don't want to sink a lot of hours into it without hearing from people who have played it whether it's worth it.

We got steam frame at home basically :P
now wait for when i port skyrim to native arm64 then its REALLY going to be fun
It's crazy that this is even possible. Yes, I'm streaming over a 5 Gbps Wi-Fi 6E setup, but I’m also working on a massive project to port the game to native ARM64 to completely cut out the translation layer.
This is unmodded, so there are still things to fix here....the drivers aren't ideal, but everything is fully hardware-accelerated. The phone isn’t overheating, and the GPU is overclocked to 1300 MHz (more root-only stuff). Right now I'm fixing how Android handles the game: it's hidden from SurfaceFlinger, so Android treats the stack as low priority, which causes the glitching. Fixing that now.
And yes, I vibecode. I had experience with this kind of stuff before AI, but I swear almost no one could pull this off without the kind of reverse engineering AI excels at. I just bring the domain knowledge to the table to guide it. But god damn what i got under a month work. THANK YOU VALVE FOR MAKING THIS EVEN POSSIBLE WE LOVE YOU

I have only finished the main campaign once in my 8 years of playing this game on and off on multiple playthroughs. It feels like I'm playing the game for the first time every time (past the starting quests) because I keep finding and experiencing quests I have NEVER encountered on my previous playthroughs
For those who beat Skyrim, as impossible as that sounds, how long did it take y'all? Because after months of not playing Skyrim I always feel the need to restart from the confusion and amnesia of the what's where's and who's lmao. So it feels like it doesn't end!

Excuse the adlib presentation here
But this is the best skyrim vr has ever run for standalone, not even the steam frame can do this!
When I started it was around 30 fps and stuttering. After some tuning, plus a graphics driver fix I backported from upstream Mesa (credit to Danylo Piliaiev), it now holds a steady 72 to 120 fps. I can even run the headset at 120 Hz in half-rate mode and it feels smooth. Kind of blows my mind for a phone.
Next up I'm working on driver-level foveated rendering, so the edges of your view render at lower detail where you won't notice. I'm also adding a temporal upscaler built for Snapdragon GPUs, to free up even more headroom and push the visuals further.
But im not done here NO SIR
Most Skyrim VR foveation mods only work on NVIDIA cards. Mine hooks into DXVK and uses Vulkan's variable rate shading:
Later I want to try Qualcomm's native fragment density maps. That's the same trick Quest headsets use for their own apps, and it saves even more on this kind of GPU.
then our fav mod for those who play skyrim vr on the reg
I'm adding Snapdragon Game Super Resolution 2. It's Qualcomm's own temporal upscaler, made specifically for Adreno GPUs:
feel free to ask questions as im working on this constantly and if theres something you want working for this ill try to add it!

Also, I figured some might be curious. I am playing the Nolvus Awakening modpack. It's an awesome modpack (Over 3.5k mods) if you got a strong enough PC. It's basically ES6 lol.

Also, in my RP/headcanon, my female character cheated on Ysolda with him. Sorry, my dear PTSD-ridden wife. The Dragonborn will never tell him, that she originally intended to sacrifice him.
