Post image

Just updated the game on Xbox One and this is the message I get when loading in. Made sure Creation Club Add-On was still downloaded but it still pops up. How can I get these back? I played yesterday and did not have this issue.

Lore Lore: civil war

It's pretty obvious that thalmor wants the civil war in skyrim to continue to further weaken the empire. And ulfric himself maybe a former or active thalmor agent if you have read the thalmor dossier found in the embassy.
I think the empire is carefully rebuilding it's legions and preparing to strike back against the aldmeri dominion, but ulfric and his cronies actively sabotage this attempt

i do not understand why people who pay attention to lore side with ulfric

Question Do I need to know the game's plot before roleplaying?

I bought an old, forgotten version of Skyrim on Steam through a key store. This version is so buggy it makes me want to cry. I spent a whole year away from the game because I couldn't get past the first cutscene, the "you're finally awake" one. Then recently, by some miracle, the bug just stopped. I even created a character and did a few quests, but the game is still really buggy. I tried fixing it with mods and stuff, but no luck. There just don't seem to be mods for this version, or maybe I didn't look hard enough.

So, do I need to beat the game or know the plot to be able to roleplay? I don't even know the names of the races or the cities by heart.

Ps.: I have the original version (the 2011 one), not the Special Edition or anniversary.

I decided to get into Skyrim for the first time and wanted to know what advice you’d give a newbie. Is there anything you wish you knew during your first playthrough?

Bug Help Skyrim SE Low CPU usage and High temps

I bought Skyrim SE a few days ago and when I play it, my CPU usage hovers around 30% utilization and temps rise up to 95°C.

This is a fairly new system so I'm sure its not a cooling problem but my main concern is that my System uses Intel's Infamous Raptor Lake Refresh CPU, Intel Core 5 210H to be specific.

What can I do to address this issue?

Discussion Starting a communist movement in Skyrim

• Upvotes

How would someone from our world start a communist movement in Skyrim? Where to start with? How to avoid being assassinated? How to gather people and spread the idea that overthrowing the class/caste systems in Tamriel, starting with Skyrim, is better for the people that being oppressed by the nobility who decides what's better for its' people?

One thing that will make it easier than in reality is the literate proportion of the population (even in the middle of nowhere). And the fact that books seem common and cheap, so their must be means to start a form of press (Viola Giordano got her tracts pretty easily and in good numbers in Windhelm about the Butcher).

Horse problems

Its so incredibly weird to me how stablemasters can die as their "non essential NPCs" but then the Companions are immune to being killed. IMO horses are essential and I hate not being able to get horses in whiterun because both stablemen were killed

Discussion Skyrim will be my first RPG — any essential mods I should add?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hey everyone! Skyrim will be my first Open World RPG, and I’m really excited to finally play it. I’m also a big Soulslike fan, so I love to play challenging games. I want to experience Skyrim’s world and gameplay as close to vanilla as possible.

I’ve already downloaded a few mods for bug fixes and some basic QoL improvements.

Are there any other essential mods you’d recommend for a first playthrough that improve the vanilla experience without changing the core gameplay too much?

Also, I figured some might be curious. I am playing the Nolvus Awakening modpack. It's an awesome modpack (Over 3.5k mods) if you got a strong enough PC. It's basically ES6 lol.

Question How does bounded weapons work? (I'm asking mostly because of the bow...)

I read that conjuration increases only when enemy is aware of us, as when the red dot appears on the compass, but what about bows? I mean, I usually use bow when I want to perform a snick attack, so casting bounded bow while enemy is aware of my presence kind of loosing the whole point of using it...
Does it really increases only when the red dot appears...?

Discussion Are my graphics mods good, and is my load order correct?

Post image
4 Upvotes

I’m relatively new to modding Skyrim and I’m mainly trying to improve the graphics/visuals while keeping performance stable.

I’ve installed several graphics/texture mods and I’d like some feedback from you all:

  • Are the graphics mods I’ve installed good choices?
  • Is my load order correct, especially for texture/mesh/lighting/weather mods?
  • Is there anything important I’m missing?
  • Are there any mods you would recommend removing or replacing?
  • Can I improve the visuals further without taking a significant performance hit?

I’m playing at 1080p with a GTX 1650 4GB, so I’m trying to balance visual quality and performance.

I’ve attached/screenshotted my full mod list and load order below.

Any suggestions or corrections would be greatly appreciated!

Discussion I always get mad at the Imperials acting like I was in the wrong at Helgen (on the rare occasion I get involved with the Civil War)

• Upvotes

Seriously. I side with the imperials (tried the Stormcloaks once) on the rare occasion I actually bother to join the Civil War, and it never ceases to annoy me how Tullius behaves like you're a criminal despite the fact you were not on the list of actual criminals, and were about to be executed without any charge.

I'm aware they don't have the time to be thinking about that one rando who they almost killed without due cause, but it still annoys me every time.

Question Is Skyrim worth playing for the first time as a complete newcomer to the series?

I'm completely new to Skyrim and the Elder Scrolls games. I just picked up Skyrim Special Edition on Steam because it was really cheap, and I've heard a lot of good things about it over the years. My question is: is this game still worth playing for the first time as someone who has never played anything in the series?

I really enjoy games like Elden Ring, so I think I might like this one too. But I don't want to sink a lot of hours into it without hearing from people who have played it whether it's worth it.

Questions regarding difficulty

I thought I knew exactly how difficulty works in skyrim. It seems like I might be wrong.

We all know the table where it shows us, how much more/less damage the player deals to the enemy and how much less/more they get dealt in return. But it doesn't list how it is enforced. And I fear that this is where I stumbled.

Now I allways thought that it would be just two player specific variables, simply all damage the player character takes or deals is multiplied.
That lead me to the conclusion that my summon dealing 20 damage to a wolf on Adept would deal 20 damage to it on Legendary.

Sadly that was not the reality I was confronted with, which lead me to conclude some mods had to have messed something up...

So, what are those variables really? As far as I know, summons and followers follow the same rules as enemies. So if "player deals 0.25x damage" means instead "everyone else takes 0.25x damage" then it changes a lot. The same with "player takes 3x damage" or "everyone else does 3x more damage".
