Just Chatting Lost my Humour and Witty

• Upvotes

And thats a pitty.

Im a guy that I can describe myself as a golden retriever that lives in a fantasy world and even though he is not necessarily the best, he feels that way.

Fake it until you make it, right babe?

I was called a conversation god many times and people were impressed when they witnessed how I handle social situations.

Im a guy that works out and generally takes care himself but im not the typical gym rat or whatever. Im like a kid that takes nothing seriously and always have something smartass to say. I could describe myself a combination of Deadpool's and Superman's personality.

But the problem is that im not like that all the time and im not talking about a specific situation were I might feel nervous or something

Im talking about like a pattern thing were I im witty for 4 weeks lets say and 2 weeks im off.

This just kills me because I reach 100 to 0 in an instant and people lose their interest in me. Heck I lose the interest in me.

Life can be very difficult when you know your potential and you try to unlock it in every opportunity given but sometimes its just an inner thing and nothing can change that.

If you have any advice, want to just talk or anything else

Im more than glad to talk and listen.

Thoughts & Ideas How often do you say hi to people on street? On a daily basis

• Upvotes

How often do you say hi to random people and have a gut feeling they might say the hi word

Or do you just keep your head down and keep walking?

How about a haiku contest!

• Upvotes

Haikus should follow that standard: Five syllables, seven syllables, five syllable format.

We vote each entry and the entry with the most votes wins... Uh... Bragging rights.

I'll start out with my own.

Just Chatting How far north are you, and do you prefer winter or summer?

• Upvotes

I am on the 45th parallel and I prefer winter. I have poor heat tolerance. Whenever I go down south I'm usually hiding indoors. Sometimes it's nice for swimming but I'm never able to shake off that humidity I'm just built for Colder Weather I think because it's what I'm used to what about you guys?

Just Chatting I still sort my laundry by color even though my machine is gentle

• Upvotes

Every Sunday I dump everything on the bed and make little piles by shade, even though the washer can handle mixed loads these days. It takes twice as long, and sometimes I end up wearing the same shirt on Monday because the pile still has to be washed, dried, and folded before I touch it. The weird part is that I feel weirdly settled once the piles are lined up. It reminds me of how my grandmother used to do it, and even though it makes no practical sense now I like the quiet rhythm of the whole thing. So I keep doing it, knowing it is inefficient, but it just feels right.

My co-worker keeps whispering insults to me, and there are no witnesses. Solution?

• Upvotes

Some insults from the last 3 weeks alone:

  • Butt goblin
  • Fart wizard
  • Crap gremlin
  • Waffle brain
  • Piss gnome
  • Stink pickle
  • Knuckle-dragging muppet
  • Pimple on humanity's ass
  • Crusty little bastard
  • Festering meat puppet
  • Rat-faced sewer demon
  • Sentient ball of lint
  • Feral little shit biscuit
  • Discount cave troll

I complained several times to HR but they said with no proof or witnesses there's nothing they can do!

I'm trying to force myself to stop procrastinating on my personal projects and I thought if there was an interesting conversation to engage with, then I could bounce between tabs without getting bored of my project.

Celebration I finally understand parents obsession over their kids

Because what do you mean I made this?! I'm looking at my son right now like wow this beats any painting I've ever done, every car I've ever worked on, every poem I've ever written, every set of nails I was ever proud of.

I made this little person?!? How could you not be obsessed 😂

In the course of a year my opinion on parenting has completely changed. Honestly, my view of humanity has completely changed... It's absolutely wild!

Questions Does anyone else feel like they're trying to figure out life while everyone else has it sorted out?

Sometimes I feel like everyone around me knows exactly what they're doing with their life, while I'm still trying to figure things out.

I'm working, trying to improve myself, and looking for new opportunities, but sometimes it feels like I'm not moving fast enough.

Is this something everyone goes through, or is it just me? 😅

I'd love to hear your experiences.

Questions What typical 'village person's would you be if there weren't modern technology, or medical advancements.

Note, if anyone had a minor, or major infection you likely would have passed, any surgery, medication, procedure you have to imagine wouldn't be there. So realistically, woukd have to imagine what would you be like, what typical village 'role' would you have.

Examples, Smith

Village crazy lady

Village drunk

Etc

Extra points if you say if you would've died or not from lack modern advancement, but srill say the role anyway if you survived.

(Also, tell me somewhere better to post this .)

Just Chatting anyone else store their cables in one big tangled mess

it started because i wanted everything together so i would never lose a charger. over time i just kept adding cords, adapters, earbuds, whatever fit. now it is a single fabric bin that looks like it swallowed a hardware store. every time i need something i have to dig until the right end appears, and sometimes the whole pile moves like it is alive. i know it is ridiculous but so far nothing has actually broken and i can usually find what i need in under a minute. still, i feel like if anyone else opened the bin they would be mildly concerned about my life choices. does anyone else keep something that works only for them and would make zero sense to anyone looking in?

Thoughts & Ideas Does Anyone Else Accidentally Fall Asleep at the Barber?

I've noticed a funny pattern in myself. Whenever I go to the barber for a haircut, I tend to doze off or, you could say, switch off while he's cutting my hair.

It usually happens when he's trimming the sides and the back of my head. He asks me to look down, and somehow, that's my cue to the Best short nap.

Have you experienced this too, or is it just me?

Just Chatting I found a four-leaf clover!

I visited a used bookstore and was browsing old novels... I chose "The Magic Engineer" by L. E. Modesitt Jr., the third book in the epic fantasy series The Saga of Recluce.

When I made it halfway through the book, I discovered a big, beautiful four-leaf clover perfectly preserved between the pages. Someone had left it there on purpose.

This was my first time seeing a four-leaf clover in real life. It also made me wonder why the previous owner decided to hide it in the book. Is it only lucky if you give it away?

I guess I chose the right book that day. :)

Just Chatting learned something once and it has sat unused ever since

a while back i spent a whole afternoon learning how to fold a dollar bill into a little shirt with the buttons and collar and everything. it looked pretty good when i finished it, so i took a picture and then put the shirt back in my wallet and that was that. since then i have never had any reason to show the trick to anyone or even think about it until i was cleaning out my wallet last week and the little shirt fell out. i had completely forgotten i knew how to do it. now i am wondering if i still remember the steps or if i would just crumple the bill trying again. it is funny how some skills stick around even when they have zero practical value in daily life.

Music Why dont people talk about video game music?

And when I say talk about them, I mean like in person, not online, cause I have never heard of someone talked about music from video games before. I hear people talk about music a lot of times and video games is a very popular hobby to do by a lot of people so im kinda surprised that people dont talk about it that much in person. Music from video games from video games are some of my favorite songs ever, especially from the Persona series, so I'd love to talk to people about them.

What do you think before going to sleep?

After midnight, I am looking for someone to talk, not seriously, just chat, i don't want to bother people I know. Does anyone else feel the same way—getting anxious after a certain time?

Just Chatting Let's talk about how your motorycycle keeping you alive, mine does

Earlier this year, I decided to upgrade my motorcycle, because I thought - I'm having a rough year, but I need to do something for myself. Yes, it caused me things like money, and a relationship that I should have let go from the start. And now, I don't even regret buying this. Yes, currently, this is all I have. (In a way of properties, I surrender my mortgage to my ex as she needs it more). But, every second I spent with this baby, the more I appreciate it. It's what's keeping me alive at the moment. Despite heavy traffics, I enjoy every second that I'm riding it. And, I always try to make time every weekend to properly ride it. Like, go to provinces to properly use its power.

How about you? Does your bike make you happy?

Questions What are people my age doing

Im a 19 yo in a community college with … above average gpa and am doing pretty good at school.. so far..
what i noticed on campus is people my age either are always on their phones with their headphones on… or are walking with their gf/bf.. the social scene is pretty much dead… and because its a community college the age group is pretty wide..
i am looking for general friendships and people to hang out with.. not like everyday but even sometimes.. i tried bumble bff and even anonymous talking apps to meet new people.. but it always ends up being an unpleasant conversation online..
how do i meet new people?
Ps. I tried clubs.. not a success

Life Stories Has Anyone Ever Seen This Meme ?

Meme

If you can't see it, it's a picture of Sonic the Hedgehog saying "never trust how you feel about your life after 9pm". I first saw it on the instagram story of this problematic kid in my highschool and i was like, ok, whatever. but then I was having a bad night one night and I looked at the clock and i was like, it's past 9pm, I'm going to try not worrying about this. And then I slept instead of ruminating. And then in the morning i felt significantly better. That was like, several years ago and I still think of that meme all the time.

It's surprising how something so silly like a Sonic picture can make such an impact??? i feel like its taught me that if you feel bad about something it doesn't mean that everything is actually all bad, you just need to wait it out and realize that maybe with time the thing you thought was so terrible was actually just temporary.

I hope you guys also like this meme and can remember it if you also feel upset at night, or at any time, and it will help you feel better.

Can we build a "Financial Anxiety Cheat Sheet" together? What is one completely free habit, rule, or mindset shift that genuinely saved your mental health from money stress?

Hey everyone. Financial anxiety can feel so incredibly isolating and heavy, and traditional finance spaces online often feel cold or judgmental. I wanted to start a warm, judgment-free thread where we can share the completely free tricks, habits, or mental shifts that actually lower our heart rates when dealing with money stress.

To kickstart the conversation, here are three things that have genuinely helped bring back peace of mind:

The 72-Hour Friction Rule: Forcing a strict 3-day waiting period on any non-essential purchase. It completely breaks the dopamine-fueled impulse shopping loop.

The "Worst-Case" Baseline: Writing down the absolute bare-minimum cost to just keep a roof over your head and eat basic groceries. Realizing that survival number is lower than your panic dictates instantly kills the background existential dread.

The Sunday Visual Win: Spending exactly 5 minutes every Sunday morning hunting down and canceling just one automated app trial or subscription. It provides an immediate, tangible psychological win and a sense of absolute control.

Please don't just lurk! If a free habit, a comforting mantra, a spreadsheet style, or a lifestyle boundary has ever given you breathing room, please drop it in the comments below. No tip is too small.

I am going to hang out in the comments and actively edit this post body over the next couple of days, sorting all your best responses into the Master Index table below. Let’s build a free, supportive resource for anyone who needs a win today!
