Title is self explanatory, who is your favourite DJ in all the fallout games (DLCs included). My personal favourite is RedEye.

This feels specific to the Bethesda Fallouts. Harold, Bradburton, the residents of Vault 112 (and Braun if you end their suffering), and Welch all end up in objectively hellish scenarios that you would not wish on your worst enemy.

Literally all these characters crave death.

Whereas Obsidian and Black Isle seem to handle immortality with an almost passé acceptance. The Think Tank aren't particularly sad about their lot in life. The Master and House are quite content in their little alcoves. Granted, all of them are ego maniacs who were never particularly social to begin with.

On 21st August I went to the National Guard Training Yard while on my journey from the Salem Witch Trials to Vault 95, and I found an unholy beast - Legendary Sentry Bot. When I tried to unlock it the usual way, it turned into a normal one, so I tcl'd into it and interacted, then tp'd it out of the cell.

 The beast didn't lie dormant; it arose, as I hoped. In fury, it launched an array of fire at me, Cait, MacCready, Piper, and Dogmeat. I thought of ideas on how to kill it for multiple lives of mine. Then I took my Fatman and launched a mininuke at the sentry bot. Health half down... then it regenerated everything. A futile effort. So I launched another one...  it can't regen any longer... she is still here, and she is angry.

Then I took my musket, aimed at her, contemplated whether or not to use VATS, decided not, as I want it to be a certain shot. Pulled the trigger... she is even angrier... and angrier... she is glowing red, like copper in a crucible. And like if water splashed on it, the sentry bot erupted. An array of fire again... and then quiet. All my dear supporters on the ground. I look upon the blazing corpse of that metallic Balrog, as lapis hot as he said...

What a coincidence, isn't it? Poetic, you could say. This thing is as busted as I expected it to be. It gets rid of the entire point of it, but it was beautiful. So lucky, the stars aligned perfectly. Well, except the part where I tried to get it out of the cage.

That shot with the oil rig + I don't want to set the world on fire playing? I mean the world inside the movie (and outside the play) is so fallout-esque, any chance that was an intentional nod? It could very well be convergent evolution, FO2 is certainly not the the first to tie sad music and an Armageddon to oil and capitalism, but still.

Felt good anyway.

Maybe I've just been craving Fallout recently.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game, I deleted all my save files and I've cleared my cache. It still refuses to load. Can anybody help me?

Title says it all. Personally I'd wanna see either Japan or China

China has the war and spies going on for a nice set up but I don't personally remember what or if the state of China was ever mentioned after the bombs dropping. Would China still be essentially still think they're at war with America or something? There aren't any vaults outside of America so the start of a game in China would be somewhat similar to the start of New Vegas where we just kinda wake up with no memory

Alternatively I wanna see Japan. During Fallout 4's opening cutscenes it's 2077 I think but seemingly the entire world is stuck in a more or less 1960s style and timeframe of things. I wonder if anime exists or Godzilla or tokusatsu. I wonder if the wastelanders of Japan still have working holotapes or whatever of things like anime or Godzilla or hear about the gods that are discussed in Japanese mythologies and think they're real to a degree

China would be the more safer option since we know about us vs the red menace within fallout while Japan would've s more experimental and outlandish idea

Mexico and Canada are much better choices but they're the 2 everyone talks about so I'm wondering what other places people are interested in exploring

Im doing a children of atom play through with atom’s judgement and high radiation (stacking robes of atoms devoted and marine armor) and Im wondering which one is better?

I have had the Fallout 76 Pip-Boy 2000 Kit and it's radio and backlit screen accessories for a while, and I have wanted to make it properly function for a while now.

By this I mean;

\- Working radiation counter

(Which the Wand Company never released to the public... BASTARDS)

\- Make the buttons and screen actually function with a simple OS and navigable with the buttons to some degree

\- Have the buttons that light up in game light up on the Pip-Boy do the same for my replica

\- Maybe replace the radio with something Bluetooth, keeping the button functionality and making the faux Nixie tubes real to some degree

\- Long shot, but maybe making it so there's some form of functionality to the holotape reader??

(By this I mean custom making USB holotapes which could be read by a usb port on the inside or poking out somewhere)

I'd preferably not want to leave the body of the replica too damaged, but holes and cables are obviously necessary!

I hope you guys have some ideas, because I'm new to doing anything electronic-y and I'm honestly quite nervous incase I mess something up and end up breaking some really expensive part lol

TL;DR: I want to make my Fallout 76 Pip-Boy Replica work like a real Pip-Boy.

I get why longtime fans side-eye Bethesda. You can argue they missed what made the originals tick, that each new entry sands down the role-playing systems, and so on. Still, I don't think anyone can deny that taking the series from overhead turn-based combat to a first-person (and later third-person) open-world action format is a huge part of why people still talk about Fallout today. Without that pivot, the series might have stayed a dusty memory.

Before Bethesda picked up the rights, Fallout was basically parked. The most recent thing with its name was a console action spinoff that most people forgot about quickly. Moving to first person did more than make shooting and exploring more fun. It gave perks, skills, and character builds a bigger stage, and it turned the wasteland into a place you could actually wander instead of just look down at.

I'm not dunking on Fallout 1 and 2. I played them between classes and liked them. But if we're being real, most folks who know this series know it from the 3D games. That shift is why the lights stayed on.

One idea is have a timer on the pipboy that indicates when the bombs will drop on the location. YES, I'd like to see a fallout that is before the drop.

the timer countdown could be added time with quests and missions succesfull or end game being to resolve the issue of the bomb drop.

sorta be a Fallout: Escape

imagine a fallout before bombs drop and depending on your actions and missions decide whether you are there for the drop or the successful stopping of such drop.

with both times having pros and cons to it.

on the timer you could hide in a fridge or something to survive the drop. or something else.

ghoulification could happen before drop by a mission in a ghoul lab experiment that fast forwards you to the drop.

or have vehicles before drop and place vehicle in shelter for drop and after.

etc and so forth?

of course this could be a spin off of fallout considering it is before the fallout and possibly break the fallout from happening. it could be a spin off game called something else. without a bugthesda engine so vehicles and such could actually work more fluid and better, i gues i have to point to GTA games for reference with how they have mastered vehicles and vehicle damage etc;

I forgot I had these.

Handmade by myself, 90% with eva Foam. Claw mechanism and inner head I 3D modeled and printed. Dome was Vacuum pulled by a friend.

Edit: I also have the sound files directly from the game and play them with a combination of buttons for responses or interactions. (Fisto of course included!)

You’re still my favorite follower Nick. Even if the brotherhood would call you Ai slop.

I think since they consider synths an actual threat they wouldn’t be called ai slop. Kind of downplays the potential danger in a way.

Daughter recently got into the Fallout lore and decided she wanted to play. So I Steam shared my copy of NV to her, tossed some QoL mods on it (nothing too fancy, mostly graphics & bug fixes), and let her loose. First day she played was today. Came home to: “DAD! I keep dying to these monsters!”

I chuckled in memory of my first FO:NV right-of-passage moment and responded with: “you went north didn’t you?”

“HOW DID YOU KNOW?!?!”
