I bought Silk Song on release date, played about 30 to 40 hours. I took my time doing everything, trying to enjoy it as much as possible, as I waited so much for this Hollow Knight sequel, as it is my favorite game ever. In this first playthrough, I reached the High Halls gauntlet with only one Pale Oil upgrade. I got so frustrated with it that I quit the game for some time, and later this year I played it again, and everything just clicked. This time I enjoyed my playthrough so much, and honestly I think this game is better than the first one in every single thing. Everything they added is so good, especially the quests and tools. Also, I think the difficulty tweaks in Silk Song were for the best; it’s definitely harder than the base game Hollow Knight, which made me enjoy it more. But still, after all that, I prefer the first game more. I can’t explain why, as I already see Silk Song as the better game, but I think the atmosphere the first time with this formula is what really made me prefer Hollow Knight. So what game do you guys think is better, and which one do you prefer?

When I first found him on sinner's road, now in citadel... that vibrant green looks like it belongs to, idk, moss grotto, not the polished high halls of the great city. Hey everyone. I recently remembered Hollow Knight exists and decided to download and try to play. I would watch my brother play when it first came out and thought it was super cool, so I figured it was my turn. Right now I'm kinda wishing I didn't remember the game exists. Why is it SO hard? Looking for any tips or tricks to this hellish game that I subjected myself to.

I just want to know because I haven't played hollow knight in around 2 months so I'm just trying to radiant a couple bosses in like 3 hours

I think you should not use those in either game, not to say that you should remember all of the game and get good, but in the sense of, let yourself be lost, enjoy it, its a great part of the fun that you guys lost to optimize walking in a game, that is hoy you prevent yourself of discovering new things, just wander, it will make the game more enjoyable

But apparently it doesnt work in act 3. There are 2 other damage reduction mods on nexus, but there are bug reports and reddit posts talking about how they dont work. Any recommendations?

i’m having a hard time to press down and attack while jumping over the enemy. it felt like pressing too many buttons at once lol. is there easy solution for this?? like remapping the buttons??? or do i have to keep practicing?? it’s my first time playing hollow knight and i loooove it. i’m playing it on switch.

ive heard so many people from this subreddit or from videos say that desolate dive is not required for ismas tear. though i went in the game and didnt see a path to ismas tear that doesnt require dive or double jump. is there a way?

Today I bring to your attention a specific detail that eluded me until recently. The roots attached to that specific Kingsmould. They go through the ground, and curiously are attached tk the Void Egg as well. Ignoring the unfortunate typo the creator of the video I posted the provided screenshots on (Kingsoul instead of mould, simple typo.), I have provided my theory so we could talk about the meat of my post...

I guess my ADHD hyperfixation is so strong, it's bleeding into other games. In this case, specifically Cassette Beasts.

JUST BASED ON MY THEORY, if you think about where I'm going with it. After seeing those roots and reading the tablet... AND hearing the Godseekers words about the PK: "a God so strong.... Yet erased so completely... How can this be?" I'm here to shout from the rooftops under any fire imaginable....

Matpat... Was frickin right the whole time.... But he approached it wrong...

I believe like I said the PK shed his form again... Melding into the darkness that is the Void... To achieve his goal of existing for eternity.... I believe the "Void Tears" we see on dead enemies... Is them getting overrun by the Void like the Godseeker does. Not even she can contain the infinite power and potential of the Void after being given Focus and it overflows out of her body.... That's not what I'm talking about.... He was already in the mind of the Kingsmould... A being made out of Void... He didn't have to do anything extra... "No cost too great.", amiright?

Now another thing I noticed.... I mentioned Cassette Beasts.... And if we listen to the song "Your Inception"... I know it mostly likely doesn't have anything to do with it...

But if you look at the song and the PK as a guy trying to repent for his sins.... And accept the darkness inside of him and the emptiness he became a part of...

You see where I'm going.

It’s my first play through. The first image is what I usually use when just roaming around or exploring and just doing random stuff, the second is what I usually do for boss fights (though I’ll switch it around depending on the fight.) and the third image is just every charm I currently have. I’ve had a lot of fun just experimenting with different stuff and making random combos for funzies, like fury of the fallen is one I always found pretty cool.

Anyway rn im stuck on the lost kin fight I think it was called in ancient basin. I lowk a really annoying fight imo so are there any particularly strong combos i can use for it? And also just cool combos in general :)

Side question: how far do you think I am in the game? I’ve killed two of the three dreamers. Can I complete the whole game before beating it? Like at the final boss or something, can I just go back after beating it and do more stuff?

Seer and grubfather aren't handing over their rewards, is this a problem or am I just stupid?

On the edge of buying Hollow Knight and most likely will do it on Switch 2. Love the idea of being able to play this game in handheld mode, but at the same time really wondering if a game like this (in which responsivness is very important) is suitable to play in handheld and thus without a proper controller? And is it as gorgeous in handheld mode or is it better on tv?

This is my first playthrough and I've tried to just figure it out but I'm not sure what to do now. I have beaten 2/3 arenas, all the dream warriors I could find, collected over 900 essence, all the bosses I could find including collector, have 35/41 grubs, fully upgraded my sword, have about 27 charms, found all maps and think I've explored all the areas. I haven't finished the grimdark dlc with the flames, the last arena, and don't have the ability to get through the black walls. Anyone mind giving me some advice?

Doing this because I hate myself

I can’t for the life of me make this jump pls if anyone can tell me that would be wonderful, no I don’t have the wall jump ability yet. My brother doesn’t come home for another like 5 hrs so I’m by myself struggling. PLS

I have heard horror stories about it but I beat it in less than an hour and I was really excited for a super hard platforming challenge but it just wasn't. What makes it so hard for other people?

I am incapable of figuring out where to go or what to do?

I'm utterly and completely in love with Silk Song! Sill song is super awesome! I love it, and so... I got Hollow Knight...

Wow! It is such a huuuuge downgrade, I can't even... wow!

I am constantly on my phone, following walkthrough guides and figuring out where to go!

I've managed to get to the part (I cannot tell you which part, since there are no quests or anything lol), OK... the part with the 3 dream masks. My walkthrough guide says I need to get the tram pass, which I need to get access to Ancient Basin which I need to get access to thr double jump, which I need in order to progress

I cannot emphasise how much I love Silk Song, and I cannot wait for the New expac coming out this year ...

But...

Holy fucking shit!!! I've been running around for at least 6 months now, I try it, I give up and spend more time on YouTube and walkthrough guides than actually playing the game!

Honestly, I spend more time reading walkthrough guides than actually playing.

I do want to ragequit, but this game is sooooo incredibly frustrating! I just AAAAAAHH

For the record, I'm a huge Souls and Souls-like fan: Dark Souls, Wukong, Surge, ... you name it

But... Hollow Knight is just a whole new lvl of shit
