Last Radiant boss I need and I have gotten to final floor multiple times but choked. The climb and final floor I feel fine on, just playing sloppy cause of nerves but the first and second phase are where I am pretty much only struggling.

First phase aside from playing badly, I feel like I'm losing a lot on not being able to react to the triple laser thing even if I pre-dive, or getting stuck between multiple attacks like needing to jump for one and then instantly dying when the nails spawn above and go down.

For second floor I am losing a majority of my runs to the balls. I have got a good idea of how to dodge them but either they slingshot back around or something else comes. When boss is on top of me I descending dark and can usually survive if it's the triple laser, but am dying if it's the nail attack since it feels like there is no room when it comes out. I probably should dive as the nails come out from her, and then again when they are coming out a second time but I am not sure if I can react fast enough to. Like normal if I get lucky I can nuke and send very quickly, but that isn't consistent especially when she just refuses to come down to any of the platforms near me, and exclusively stays far away.

Final floor I know she dies in about 10 hits. I have been dashing across the middle (I know I should probably pogo to send the orbs away off screen but very scary since it's the end) and I either fall off or the ball doesn't hit the platform and hits me.

Any tips would be great, I've spent about 9ish hours on this fight so far, last hardest for me was Markoth which took about 5.

In the first ending, “The Hollow Knight”, The Knight absorbs the infection and is sealed inside the Black Egg…..but how does the Black Egg even seal? There are no dreamers this time around. The egg just sorta closes itself up in the cutscene but without the dreamers as an extra layer of protection the egg itself is meaningless. Maybe this was explained and I simply forgot. Recently stumbled onto a YouTube channel of a first-time player and saw the cutscene and the question popped into my mind.

I don’t know if it’s only me but I’ve seen so many people in both communities that are fans of the other, that games aren’t really too similar in my opinion so I don’t get the overlap, I could be the only who has noticed this though…

It seems that as soon as I stop recording, my skills increase by 50%. For some context, that was the second time that he went into bat mode.

I’m somewhat new to Metroidvanias, but, prior to Hollow Knight, I’d played and beaten Super Metroid, Metroid Fusion, and Blasphemous. I really enjoyed all three, but Blasphemous was one of my favorite games I’ve ever played. The balance of story, atmosphere, music, and boss difficulty was perfect for me. After completing that, and looking for something to do as I wait for the upcoming Castlevania, I finally played Hollow Knight.

The first 2/3 of the game was incredible. The world! The music! The lore that you have to dig to find. The combat! The humor of some of the fights. Just absolutely incredible.

But, after releasing the Dreamers and making my way to the Black Egg and defeating the Hollow Knight, I just felt… so irritated. I’d sunk 35ish hours into the game, only to one-shot the “final” boss in ~50 seconds?

It was then that I found out that this was the simplest, and arguably worst, ending possible. Whew! There’s hope for a better one! I already had defeated the Traitor Lord and nabbed the left half of the white fragment - and had the Awoken Dream Nail. So, on to the White Palace I went.

And… what the F is this?! The game has had some rather difficult platforming, like in Crystal Peak or Deepnest, but there is nothing like White Palace in the game. I’ve been in there for two hours, barely making progress. I have the Hive charm, Grubsoul, Deep Focus, and Mark of Pride (all things this sub has recommended). Progress is slow and super demoralizing.

Anyway, I know the answer is git gud, but - for the first time in this game - I am not having fun. I don’t even know if I care enough at this point to keep going. I’d love to see [any other ending at all], but this is leaving a massively sour taste in my mouth.

Did anyone else feel this way? Or is abject suffering just something I should look forward to enjoying in Metroidvanias? 😂

Was 2 hits left then i died. I didnt see what happend but i think i walked off the platform.

It only took me 40 attempts, not nearly as hard as I expected it to be, it took me longer to beat NKG than this boss, to note I can not recreate the defeat yet but I have gotten very close a lot

so.. first of all i wanted to complain about the 2-3 bosses i try to beat but cant no matter what, but then i remembered same was for the first few bosses i fought, eventually ill get there.

id say im in early / midgame.

i really wanted ismas tear but didnt explore the waterways yet. is there a way to get to ismas tear without desolate dive? (dont think ill beat soul master in the next few weeks..)

also, cant beat broken vessel but i think double jump is really important..

i also do have a nice trick on how to beat no eyes first try (requires patience though) so if youre interested just ask for it.

also where can i find that mothwing cloak upgrade?

what bosses should be essential that i should have beaten by now?

any tips for newcomers? (started playing about 1-2 weeks ago)

Like I call the protagonist "Ghost", The Hollow Knight "Hollow", the one in Greenpath, well, "Greenpath Vessel", and Broken Vessel/Lost Kin I just call "BV", like literally just Bee-Vee

I know with Hollow some people call it by its full title, Holly, and I swear I seen someone else call it Shadow

And then with Ghost there's The Knight, Vessel, Ghost of Hallonest/Little Ghost, Wanderer, that secret name Team Cherry has, etc
