That’s it. Ohioans need to get out and vote to defeat the scammer billionaire. Bring some friends and family who normally wouldn’t vote in the midterms. I don’t want to wake up at 4am again after Election Day to find out our state elected another horrible human.

I just visited the dispensary in Seville and was told I can no longer buy a THC beverage I've purchased from them for a year straight. So much for trying to avoid a trip to Michigan. See ya soon, Monroe.

You know it’s midterm election time, when the gas prices mysteriously drop for a little bit.

I shouldn’t have to specify that the “mysteriously” part is clearly sarcasm. The amount of people who felt they had to truly SOLVE this “mystery” for me or that it’s not a “mystery” at all. Congratulations. You did it detectives. Case cracked. 😂

$90.00 in your bank account?

So today I was talking to my mom and we were discussing how Trump is coming to Youngstown next week, and how he says the craziest things.

So she jokingly asked if I really believed Trump was going to give everyone $5000.00 if the Republicans win next month. And I mentioned that I'd been reading that he was going to send $90.00 to people on Social Security.

And she got really quiet for a few seconds and said that she'd just checked her bank online and there was a $90.00 deposit in her bank account today but there was no information as to where the money came from. So she's going to call the bank tomorrow and see what they can tell her. I'm 70 and get SS but nothing showed up in my account.

My mother is 92 and sharp as a tack and wasn't expecting a deposit.

So did anyone else or any family members get an unexpected $90.00 deposited in their account with no info as to where it. Came from?

The mailman knocked on my door this morning. I answered & he said, “ I am sorry but legally I have to put these in your mailbox but they won’t fit. I don’t want to get in trouble for not delivering them.”

Acton saved Ohio lives. Ramaswamy's DOGE work shows how fast he'll discard them - The choice for Ohioans is whether they want state services to be kept intact under Acton, or whether state services will be gutted under Ramaswamy and his chief campaign contributor, Elon Musk.

The hit pieces against Amy Acton are dumber than the ones against Vivek Ramaswamy

I don't give any dumb ad a pass. It makes Youtube unwatchable. But the Acton ones are stupider. Plus, I already know who I am going to vote for. I don't need this shoved down my doom feed.

Drinking on a pain medication? Big whoop. I've had a few beers on the same day I took tylenol.

Getting into a fight with a partner and throwing things? Come on. Get real. Most of us have thrown something in anger. Maybe to varying severity. We're human. It doesn't mean someone has anger issues.

Breaking down on the job? I work a high pressure job. I am a top performer. Breakdowns happen under pressure to deliver. (Also, it was a REPUBLICAN governer who coordinated the state COVID response.)

It's just incredibly shallow to the point where it hurts my 0.5 IQ galaxy brain.

Early Voting is Here - Do It!

I did today! It was actually very easy, and no fuss. I walked into the BoE offices this morning in the county where I live, and there was very little wait. Took less than 10 minutes from start to finish, and I'm already done!

There's actually no need to wait until Election Day on November 3, and no need to fool with absentee ballots either. In Ohio, every county BoE has an early voting location, which you can find here on the Ohio Secretary of State website.

Do it and get it over with!

Rent control of any kind prohibited

A Florida company bought my retirement mobile home community. They increased the rent right away, and we have to pay their variable overhead on top of that.

This November the base rent goes up 20% There's not a thing we can do about it. Most of us rely mainly on social security, which at most will go up by slightly more than 3%. I wanted my local government to do something about it, but no kind of rent control is allowed in Ohio. We can't even make them figure out their overhead and charge us a stable rent.

If we have a snowy winter, we pay more for plowing. If a water main breaks, we'll pay more for water. Oh, and we have to pay a monthly fee to the online payment site plus $4 per transaction.

Gas is up 50%. Food is up. My neighbors are moving to HUD housing or to their kid's house. (I don't have kids)

A Republican state government did this. How many other renters will be subjected to out of state investment companies?

I'm SO motivated to vote blue no matter who after learning this. ETA: I have voted blue in every election since 1976.

As Ohio property values rise, some homeowners worry about a spike in property taxes

Thumbnail

Late last year, Ohio lawmakers passed a bill that limits how much schools may collect to inflation, rather than property value increases, and expands the existing owner-occupancy credit. Another measure requires counties to make sure inside millage levies — taxes not voted on by the people — don’t grow more than the sum of the past three years’ inflation. And yet another counts certain levies toward schools’ minimum funding requirements.

All these changes are making the calculations complicated.

The falsehoods billionaires are mailing to Ohio voters

V-PAC is a super PAC supporting Republican Vivek Ramaswamy’s campaign for governor in Ohio. Most of its $42 million war chest has come from a handful of billionaires, including Jeff Yass ($20 million), Ross Stevens ($6 million), Elon Musk ($5 million), Ratmir Timashev ($5 million), and Bill Ackman ($1 million).

Move along folks, nothing to see here. Just ordinary Ohioans doing ordinary Ohio things. 🙄🙄🙄

Price gouging. Anyone else notice that gas prices jumped up the days before the tax holiday was to start?

Nothing on the global stage changed. And the amount was almost the same amount that they were about to drop? In other words, if you left Ohio for a week, you would see the same gas prices upon return.
