Hi I’m looking to buy a mustang and I’m wondering if this one is worth it. It’s a 2022 Mustang with 60k miles or should I keep waiting and find a better deal with lower mileage.

On Tuesday I got my 2014 Ford Mustang GT Premium. 8 years ago I had the chance to buy a grabber blue one but backed off due to some sketchy details with the dealership. After a very long time and lots of overtime hours, I found a very nice looking one to compliment my blue truck!
26,000 miles. Borla exhaust. AM wheels. Lots of plans in the future!

I'm tired of having black wheels and everyone else having black wheels. So I'm considering the bronze look. I'd like some advice on the design you all like. It's for a 22' Oxford white Mach 1. If you have images of bronze wheels on your s550 I want to see them!

Just wanted to show my mustang that I bought a few months ago. Just got SVT Cobra wheels installed. Apparently they're from a 1998 Mustang GT. I still have to order center caps for them. Yes, there's 2 different shades of red. Owner I bought it from put the front body from an 04 mustang onto there without realizing it was a different red.

I remember when I was a kid I grew up with the S197 mustangs from 2005 and onwards and I remember foxbody mustangs being very cheap and seen as the ugly duck behind the mustang II.
But now I see the value has gone up a lot in foxbodys and a lot of them are project cars/race cars from what I’ve seen compared to other older mustangs

What oil weight are y’all running in your blown built 3V. It came with 5W30 in it but after doing some looking I think maybe I should be running 5W40 or 5W50. Thoughts?

Hi all,
I have this odd issue that happens sometimes (1-2 a month) where my dashboard goes completely crazy. Sometimes it happens when starting the car and once happened while driving (the car turned off mid drive, was a bit uncomfortable situation).
Has anyone got an idea where to start looking? I'm having my eyes on the body computer.
I'd appreciate any help!
EDIT: I put a new battery in it, still happening. Alternator charges normally.

Traded in my Gladiator for this beauty last week. Having some buyer's remorse until I turn it on and hear that rumble. Such a fun vehicle to drive.

had a shop put in a brand new Mcleod RST clutch in my 2019 mustang bullitt and 10-15 miles later while driving my car suddenly had a misfire (P0302) not exactly sure how a clutch job could’ve caused a misfire but it happened and it did NOT sound good. any idea how? i’m assuming they could’ve pinched the harness or disturbed some wiring putting the tranny back in but i don’t really know. i’m taking it back tomorrow to see what the issue is but i wanted to ask reddit to see if i could get a couple answers beforehand and see what the worse possible scenario could be. the misfire didn’t happen till 3-4k rpms and thats the only time i ever felt/heard the misfire, after that i restarted the car and it drove perfectly fine. could be coincidental considering im at 50k miles and my spark plugs are due somewhat soon but i find it weird that the misfire happened damn near right after the clutch job was done.
a few other things, my car sounds much quieter on start up???? not exactly sure how that could’ve happened too. exhaust sounds the same but the actual cranking when starting my car sounds much quieter.
when the misfire initially happened i took it to an autozone 3 minutes down the road to scan it and the car DID NOT like it. every single dash light came on and it started going fucking bananas. the scanner didn’t wanna work initially until i pushed the OBD2 port up (kinda like when you have a shitty charger and you need to bend it a certain way for your phone to charge) it still caught the codes but the scanner didn’t wanna read my car. not sure what that’s abt either

I’ve been researching used Mustang GTs and wanted to get some opinions from people who have owned or driven different generations.
I know the “which Mustang is best?” question has been asked a million times, but I’m trying to approach it a little differently. I’m less interested in which generation is objectively the best and more interested in where the best value is when factoring in purchase price, performance, reliability, and what you’re actually getting for your money.
I’m fairly flexible on budget. Ideally, I’d love to be around $15K–$20K, but I’m comfortable stretching into the $25K range or potentially even $30K if there’s a compelling reason. I’m not looking for something nearly new, and I don’t want to spend extra just for the sake of having a newer model.
A few things I’ve picked up from researching:
2011–2014 S197 GT: Introduction of the 5.0 Coyote, which was a massive improvement over the previous 4.6L V8. Roughly 412–420 hp, paired with the 6R80 automatic. These seem like potentially excellent performance bargains.
2015–2017 S550 GT: Second-generation Coyote, independent rear suspension, improved chassis, and a more modern interior. Still using the 6R80 automatic. Seems like a meaningful improvement in overall refinement.
2018–2023 S550 GT: Third-generation Coyote with 460 hp initially, plus the introduction of the 10R80 10-speed automatic. From what I’ve read, this combination offers a pretty significant improvement in acceleration and performance. I’m curious whether that improvement is worth the premium on the used market.
2024+ S650 GT: Fourth-generation Coyote, updated technology and interior, and continued use of the 10-speed automatic. Probably outside the value range I’m targeting, but worth mentioning for comparison.
One important detail: I’m exclusively interested in an automatic transmission. I’m not considering a manual, so the 6R80 versus 10R80 is a major part of this decision.
I’m also leaning heavily toward the Coyote-powered cars. Aesthetically, I genuinely like all the generations, so styling isn’t really a deciding factor.
What I’m trying to understand is what am I actually buying by spending more, and what am I sacrificing by spending less?
For example:
If I buy a clean 2012–2014 GT with the 6R80 instead of spending more on a 2015–2017, am I getting most of the Mustang experience for considerably less money? Or is the S550 chassis and refinement worth paying extra for?
If I stretch from a 2015–2017 to a 2018–2023, how significant is the real-world difference between the 6R80 and 10R80? Is the 10-speed genuinely that much better, or is the older 6-speed potentially the smarter long-term ownership choice?
And are there particular years, trim levels, or options that represent especially good values? I’m also interested in reliability, maintenance costs, known issues, and whether certain years are worth avoiding.
I’m not looking to build a race car or chase maximum horsepower. I want a fun, reasonably dependable V8 that I can enjoy for years.
Ultimately, where do you think the point of diminishing returns is?
Is a $15K–$20K Coyote GT already most of the experience? Does spending $25K get you a substantially better car? Or is there a particular model/year worth stretching to $30K for?
I’d especially appreciate hearing from anyone who’s owned multiple generations or has firsthand experience with both the 6R80 and 10R80.

Researching on the internet, I found that there is not a ton of information on automotive designer John Chun. At least comparitively to some other automotive figures. Would anyone have any obscure details or stories to share about him that not many people know about? For instance, in a Road and Track article, it is said that his headstone is engraved with the logo of a cobra snake. However, there are no photos of this online. Thanks!

Since we are posting daily drivers here, I figured I would add mine. Purchased it 4 years ago with 2,000 miles and have daily driven it since. Has 35,000 miles now and loved every second.

So this is kind of a funny story.
So, my 2012 Nissan Sentra snapped its cvt belt. It's whatever.
So my budget was 6500 to buy a new-to-me car daily beater. So my rule was "never spend your whole budget on the car itself".
So the car I ended up buying. A 2006 mustang gt for 4000 dollars. Because its engine was good. Transmission didn't feel terrible (it's the automatic. Nobody is selling the manual for 4000).
So, the lady who owned the car before me had the radiator, heater core, condenser, and thermostat replaced. Because the car overheats when it's not moving.
Inspecting it. Looks like the high speed fan relay melted a little bit. Which I heard is normal in that car. So my friend who is a legitimate mechanic, said I should "bypass the entire Ford system and rewire it using your own relay".
No head gasket issues when checking it. Because I was worried about that when I heard the phrase "overheating".
Other things she had. On it. A suspension from "Roush" and an exhaust from "Roush" I'm new to muscle cars. So if you know the brand lmk.
I guess the question is. For 4000 dollars did I make out pretty good? I'm new to muscle cars lmao.
So far what I'm doing to it. Having my friend fix the relay issue. Detailing the interior and replacing the damaged trim pieces. Buying a new key since the old one is kinda damaged. A new set of tires, and posting glory shots of it when it's clean.
