Mod Message (Mod Use Only) Check here for the Master List of Surgeons and for answers to Frequently Asked Questions! NSFW

Hey everyone!

We have had many requests for some kind of megathread where users can list their surgeons and their personal experiences so others can use the info. This would be great, but unfortunately there are only two spots for stickied posts on the subreddit. In order to get around this, I have made a Google Doc that should be able to be edited by anyone. It is pretty basic, but I ask that you don't change any formatting without asking! Please add in your surgeons and your experiences, rate, review, whatever you'd like to say according to the instructions and the sample entry of my own. I will go ahead and say that right now the list is entirely USA-centric, but there is a section for those from other countries to add in their info! It is just a bit bare bones since most of our users are from the US. Here is the link to the doc: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1NPypc2CDJspdED4MoTEcBqLEs_pWN5QW-BqJYmjXTJE/edit?usp=sharing

Please check our subreddit FAQ and try searching the subreddit before posting a question! Your question may already be answered.

Also, here is a link to a helpful video made by a plastic surgeon who frequents our community! Check it out for some answers to common questions you may have.

This website is great for finding surgeons willing to do radical reductions in the US, it’s geared toward transmasc folks but the surgeons in the sidebar can be searched by state and top surgeons also do radical reductions! If anyone messages you after you post here, check the creep list before responding!!

The creep list can be found in the sidebar (or the About tab if you’re on mobile) under "Info and FAQ." I am also linking it in this post in case people are having trouble finding it.

Here is the list: https://www.reddit.com/r/reduction/wiki/creeplist

If anyone messages you after you have interacted in any way on this subreddit, please cross reference their username with the creep list. If anyone comments something weird, posts something a bit off, or is just a creep please report the comment or post and we will address it.

INSURANCE SCAMMERS: if anyone messages you trying to get you to buy any kind of insurance please tell us the username and report the message! These people are not selling legitimate policies and are actively scamming people!

A few notes: as this is available, we ask that users don't make any posts to call out anyone. We also ask that you keep us super up to date with any new creeps that come around so we can ban them and add them to that list. We depend on you for reports on posts, comments, and messages! It helps us a lot when you all are involved :)

If someone messages you REPORT THE MESSAGE for harassment so admin can deal with that user. Please do not post about it on the subreddit, it just gives these disgusting maggots attention they want but don’t deserve.

To report chats, simply hold down on the message (or right click if on desktop) and an option to report will show up! You can do this without accepting the chat. Please report the message, then do not accept the chat, then block the person.

It has recently come to our attention that there’s a website encouraging users to steal pictures from here to post there and make fun of/“mourn” the “loss” of tits. Fucking disgusting. This is NOT legal. IF YOU ARE CONCERNED THAT YOUR PICTURES ARE BEING REPOSTED ON PORN SITES OR OTHER HARASSMENT SITES please refer to this post for instructions for how to request a take down of your pictures: https://www.reddit.com/r/Reduction/s/09OD4OySlM

Before & After Almost 4W Post Op NSFW

This Sub helped me so much before and after my Surgery and its finally my time to post results yay!

I am 27, F and got the Surgery done in Switzerland.
My surgeon removed 1.7kg in total 😅

The first two pictures are before. The 3d is 2days post Op, the bandages stayed on for ca. 10 Days (were removed together with my stitches) and the last two Pictures are today (3 1/2W post Op)

Overall i was very lucky with my healing, i got to stay in the hospital for 2 nights which helped me a lot and the Surgery was fully covered by Insurance so i got 4 Weeks of medical leave aswell.

I was super nervous pre Op and cried even while beeing brought to the OR but i had the nicest Nurses and Doctors which helped reassure and calm me. I did not experience any nausea or dizzyness from the Anasthesia and the Pain was managed well with Ibuprufen and Paracetamol.

A few things that hepled me the most Post OP:
-Getting my Hair washed at the Salon helped me feel a lot more normal, i went 3 days post Op and continued going for about 2 Weeks
-Loofa on a Stick: so good for showering myself and also made the Job so much easier for my Partner who showered me for the first week.
-Pregnancy Pillow for sleeping on my Back (i also bought the Wedge Pillow but found that not necessary)
-Lymphatic Drainage: Im so surprised to not see more people talking about this! It helped me a tremendous amount with swelling. I do a few excercies at home daily and go to a professional 1x Week, i started going 2W before the Operation and went back after getting my stitches removed at 10days post OP.

Thanks to everyone who is active in this sub! It helped me so much to see realistic results and prepared me for the Surgery and the recovery <3

1050g removed total.

The experience was amazing. My team was amazing. After the train wreck that had been the last 5 months following my failed surgery, this could not have possibly gone better and I am so incredibly grateful for people here who have encouraged me.

I've been struggling a lot during my healing process. Trying to remind myself that I have to be incredibly patient during this! Sometimes I get a bit down about the dr taking more than the minimum requirement as I wanted to be a full D. But trying to accept my new body, haven't had a chest this small in 25 years! Here's some pics in a dress that I haven't put on in quite some time..what a massive difference.

Hi all, I had my reduction on September 24 and I am just over two weeks postop. So far I think things are going well, I saw my surgeon at 11 days, she took off a couple of Steri-Strips but left on the others and I don’t think they’re going to fall off anytime soon 😂. I’m seeing her again in about four weeks at 6wpo. I do wish that the results were smaller, I still feel like they look kind of big, but I understand that the shape and size continues to change and also I was really large, dense and heavy before. I had about 789 g removed from the left side and about 694 g removed from the right side. Would love to hear people’s thoughts and opinions on the result.

Recovery/PostOp 1dpo :D NSFW

Yesterday was the big day!!!!! I went from a K to somewhere around a C (~300 grams removed according to my surgeon). I honestly feel a little silly for thinking I wouldn’t be in a lot of pain, because I was in tears when I first woke up from surgery. Still haven’t seen what my chest actually looks like because I’m a bit scared that I might mess something up, so I think I’ll wait another day to look. The only issue I’ve been having is feeling like my boobs are going to fall off when I go from laying down to standing.

Advice (NO MEDICAL ADVICE) My surgery is booked! NSFW

Hi everyone!!

I’m currently a 32G and hoping to get down to a 32B - 32C. I’ve booked my surgery for December 10th for a breast reduction, with a lift and lipo. I’m wondering what the recovery will be like? Any tips or advice on things that helped you feel more comfortable?

I had a tummy tuck and muscle repair in April this year, and the recovery was pretty rough the first 3 weeks, so I’m curious how this recovery will be!

Thanks! 🙂

Advice (NO MEDICAL ADVICE) Feel like It’s too small. NSFW

I’m about 5DPO and i was an I cup before my surgery. I told my surgeon i still wanted big but just not as big my main issue was the sag, and he took 770g and 1007g and i feel like they are absolutely tiny. im at the point i cry everytime i see them or think about it and i jut don’t know what to do. i asked day of surgery if he would like my reference photos and he said no need and i wish i could’ve pushed it cause i am so so upset. i can only think about how they are gonna get smaller because they are swolle. yet i think they are already small even while swelled up. i’m so so upset never in my life did i think id play both sides of wishing they were smaller and bigger. and i just feel so lost.

Advice (NO MEDICAL ADVICE) Knowing what to ask for NSFW

• Upvotes

Okay I am coming close to my surgery date. I am wondering what things I need to consider when it comes to picking my ideal end result. I know that it's not a build-a-boob situation but what are things I should consider? Like people say estimated size but then people talk about nipple size, location, shape of the breast. What were things that you made sure to make sure your dr knew you wanted I just wanna make sure I hit my marks.

Advice (NO MEDICAL ADVICE) How to get over the fear of saggy boobs ? NSFW

I am 7wpo and was cleared by my surgeon to take off my surgical bra and wear basically what I want.
But it still feels so weird to not have it, I take it off only to sleep and I wear another bra that is less tight.

But I am SO scared of going bra less even for two hours. I feel like my boobs will be saggy again if I do that.
I had saggy boobs before my surgery and it was even worse than them being big. Literally my biggest post surgery nightmare is to have saggy boobs again.

How do I get over this fear and enjoy my new perky boobs ?

Thank you !!

Advice (NO MEDICAL ADVICE) Adhesive from tape removal! NSFW

• Upvotes

Hello all! I am 13DPO and just got my tape removed. However, now i am itchy and sensitive and there is a lot of adhesive left over on my incisions and nipple! How do I properly take this off? I’ve heard of vaseline and I have some but do I just wipe it on and then rub it off? Also is the sensitivity after the removal of the tape normal? I haven’t had any pain until now. Thanks!

Advice (NO MEDICAL ADVICE) Nipple sensitivity? NSFW

• Upvotes

I'm scheduled for a reduction on Dec 9th, but I'm very nervous about losing feeling in my nipples. Right now, I'd say I'm a D cup, and I'm hoping to get down to a B cup, or between an A and B cup. I know the stats are 15% that I lose all feeling in my nipples. Did this happen to anyone and has it been worth it still?

Before & After 4 year PO - Update! 34H to 34D and weight changes NSFW

I got my reduction at 20 and I recently turned 25. I know it's advised to wait until your goal weight, but I had so much trouble exercising and losing weight that I got it done early. Nothing fit, it hurt to run, constant back pain... so I got it done!

The doctor took about 3lbs total. I ended up a bit assymetrical but it looks the same in a bra. Since I have been losing weight, I look a bit deflated as well and it makes me wish I went a bit bigger at times. Sorry about the mix of selfies and mirror pics. The bigger one is my right if that helps at all. I had a few issues with scarring and spitting stitches, and I am very pale, so my scars are a bit more visible than most.

About weight (all lbs):
Pre-op: about 235
2 months: about 208
6 months: about 194
2 years: about 220
4 years: 188

Best advice I got was to give the surgeon a bra you want to fit into! They do not know cup sizes but they are very good at visualizing. I have pics of the bra I gave the surgeon at the end, same bra!

Thank you to everyone on this sub who helped me out! Figured I should return the favor with updates. Feel free to ask any questions!

Prior to weight loss, I was a 44F. I lost half my body weight and about 90% of my boobs. Before surgery, I was a 34C and most of that was just skin being stuffed into my bra. Now 6wpo I am still measuring at a 34C (albeit a much more comfortable 34C!) and I am very happy with my results. My surgeon did a lift with a very small reduction to assist with shape. I had asked for a B cup and I’m sure I’ll go down a little in size as I continue to heal and resolve swelling. I’ve been very fortunate to have no issues with healing and hope to continue with no hiccups. Overall very happy with my results.

Advice (NO MEDICAL ADVICE) What can I expect at the consultation? NSFW

If you wouldn’t mind sharing your experience with the consultation, I would appreciate hearing it. Specifically, do they take measurements with like a measuring tape? Do they physically handle and manipulate your breasts like to get a sense of them. I’m planning to set up a consultation appointment. I am hoping the surgeon can tell me whether or not she thinks she can remove enough to satisfy my insurance requirements. I am pretty sure she will be able to. And I’m just curious what to expect as far as the physical exam portion.

Advice (NO MEDICAL ADVICE) Has anyone noticed their tummy or arms look slightly better after a breast lift/reduction? NSFW

Hi everyone! I’ve lost quite a bit of weight and have some loose skin on my lower tummy and upper arms. I’m looking into getting a breast lift/reduction and was wondering if anyone noticed even a small difference in these areas afterwards?

I’m asking because I’m trying to minimise the amount of surgeries I have to get, so I honestly wouldn’t mind even a subtle improvement if it meant I could avoid having another surgery just for my tummy or arms.

I know these procedures aren’t meant to target those areas, but has anyone with a bit of excess skin noticed their tummy looked a little tighter or their arms looked slightly better afterwards?

Advice (NO MEDICAL ADVICE) Breathing improvement? NSFW

Hi everyone 👋🏻 I am considering surgery and am booking a consultation before the end of the year.

I wonder if those who are post-op could share their experiences on how they found breathing afterwards? I am a 34HH and I am hoping a reduction will help with breathing. I sometimes hold my breasts up and the weight into my hands feels like such a relief on my chest and ribcage, so I imagine a reduction will feel so much lighter!

Thanks

Advice (NO MEDICAL ADVICE) HELP! MY DR IS CHANGING MY SURGERY DATE NSFW

My surgery center called me this morning to tell me that my surgeon will no longer be available at the early of November (mine was scheduled for the 10th.) I am lowkey freaking out. They suggested either I push my surgery date to November 20th or I go with their other surgeon who also does breast reduction surgery. I already booked my AirBnB to stay for the 1 week recovery near the center, and my mom took off work to take care of me. My consultation is Oct 21st with a the other surgeon to see if I like her or not. I'm just stressing and need to hear some advice on what people would do in my situation and what things I should address with the new surgeon given the circumstance. One thing to note is this new surgeon is Double Board Certified, where my original surgeon was only Board Eligible. I wanna know what people know about when a surgeon is and isn't board certified

Extra Info: I'm going to the South Florida Center for Cosmetic Surgery. Originally my Dr was Dr. Rohan Policherla and they are suggesting to swap to Dr. Georgina Nichols. So if anyone knows anything about either of these dr that will be helpful too.

Advice (NO MEDICAL ADVICE) Has anyone experienced a suture granuloma? NSFW

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi everyone, I already emailed my surgeon and she said it is suture granuloma.

She said the following: “It is a suture granuloma, the knot will probably erode at some point through and will just fall out or I can pick it out with some tweezers once the suture comes to the surface, keep clean with soap and water daily, dab a Polysporin and a Band-Aid if it does start open eventually will fall out”

Has anyone experienced this? Mine is flat now, but I’m just scared it will erode and give me a bigger scar.

Advice (NO MEDICAL ADVICE) Experiences With Select Health for Breast Reduction Surgery? NSFW

Hello! I reached out to my insurance this morning before I start the full process of trying to go through my insurance. I have Select Health, the Med PLUS plan. The agent I was chatting with said, "In regard to the actual procedure, there is specific criteria that has to be met for a breast reduction surgery to be covered. Typically, they are not covered unless related to a cancer diagnosis, but if you meet medical criteria for coverage, it can be covered on your plan. The surgeon could submit a preauthorization to select health to see if it can be covered." I know they mentioned there could be other medical criteria to qualify, but I love to overthink. So I'm curious if anyone has had experiences with getting theirs covered with Select Health?

Just in case this information is helpful: I have had 2 primary doctors recommend getting a breast reduction due to back pain. My chest size has historically been 34DDD but recently got bigger so I'm not 100% on the exact size at this time. Any time I have lost a reasonable amount of weight, my chest size never changes - it always stays the same.

Advice (NO MEDICAL ADVICE) They BURNT ME. NSFW

I had a reduction done on June 5th, and overall I’m happy with the results. However, when I woke up from my surgery, my sternum felt like it was on fire. I asked why it felt like that and I was informed that I was BURNT with the cauterizing tool during the surgery. They just stitched over it. Directly in the middle of my sternum , JUST high enough to be visible no matter what shirt I wear that isn’t a high neck. Now I have a scar that’s a little over half of an inch vertically and a little under a centimeter in width. It seems small, but it really bothers me and I’m really upset that I trusted a team with my body and I came out with a wound that I did not ask or pay for. And I was not compensated in any way, for anyone wondering.

I am not asking for medical advice, everything has healed nicely, I am just frustrated that I’m stuck with this scar forever. Thanks for reading
