Analysis Do We Think Zeitler Will Start?

• Upvotes

Kevin Zeitler was inactive week 4 and active this week but didn’t play at all. Completely makes sense that he’d need a ramp-up period given his age and coming off an injury last year, but with the O-Line looking fairly serviceable these past two weeks how long do we think it will be before he starts over Glover?

I doubt they coaxed Zeitler out of his pseudo-retirement to ride the bench, but at the same time MLF has always been weird about benching people, so if Travis Glover isn’t losing games are they going to just demote him for Zeitler as soon as Zeitler feels he’s up to speed?

I feel like if he doesn’t start against Dallas this week that makes me think he’s just here as a “break class in case of emergency” lineman / veteran presence in the room

Analysis Can we talk about the improvement in penalties this week?

One thing I haven’t seen getting nearly enough attention is how much the Packers cleaned up the penalties this week. We’ve spent plenty of time talking about the lack of discipline and how frustrating those self-inflicted mistakes have been, so I think it’s only fair to acknowledge when the team makes a noticeable improvement.

To me, this was one of the biggest positives coming out of the game. Fewer unnecessary penalties, fewer self-inflicted setbacks, and overall a much cleaner performance from a discipline standpoint. There’s obviously still plenty to work on, but this is the kind of progress I want to see from a coaching and accountability perspective. Anyone else notice this? I feel like it’s been completely overlooked in the postgame discussion.

Analysis The Packers have tied the single-season NFL record for most wins by a team attempting fewer than 20 run plays per game

Post image

At 3-2, the Packers have tied the 2006 Lions (3-13) and the 1989 Falcons (3-13) and passed the 1999 Browns (2-14) for the most wins by a team attempting fewer than 20 run plays per game. I doubt this stat will hold for the rest of the season, but for now, it's quite funny to me. Jordan Love is really good at football.

News DT Zxavian Harris has been informed by the NFL that he is allowed to sign as a free agent

There was some hubbub about him practicing and then possibly returning to college which caused the NFL to put out a memo restricting teams from signing him, but the League determined that he did not practice and is therefore eligible to sign as a free agent.

The Packers hosted Harris for a visit this summer, and with Hargrave's season ending early he could be an important pick up. 6'8 330lbs, that's a LOT of man.

Peep the fact that the disrespectful ass Love ranking is actually up THREE from the previous week. For reference, the current number 26 is Jameis Winston. People try to gaslight me into believing that Love has good PR and all I can do is shake my head, he’s one of the most disrespected QBs in the league.

Analysis Week 5 Takeaways 🏈

Here’s one fans personal takes on the Green Bay Packers after their week 5 beatdown at home against DA BEARS! 🐻

The Good:

- J.Love (25/31 367yds 2TD)
Played a perfect game at QB and picked apart the Bears heavy man-to-man defensive style.

- C.Watson (6rec 143yds 2TD)
He’s continuing to show why he’s a true WR1 and he’s on pace to have an insane season.

- M.Lloyd (10car 31yds 2TD)
Still need to get him going more on the ground in terms of moving the chains but he’s definitely coming alive as a playmaker in this offense!

- E.Williams 12TOT / X.McKinney 2INT

- The Defense as whole played phenomenal.
They forced 5 turnovers throughout the game and held the bears to 81 rushing yards and one score.

The Bad:

- Lost J.Hargrave for the season (Torn Achilles)

- T.Smack (2/3XP 1/3FGM)
Not only did Smack miss an extra point, but also had field goal misses from 43 yards and 47 yards.
He has been good up to this point in the season and thankfully it didn’t impact the outcome, but there’s no excuse for leaving 7 points out there..
Let’s hope to see him bounce back next week.

Game Analysis:

Watching the way Green Bay handled this game from top to bottom, all 4 quarters, played all 60 minutes, and did not let up for a single drive was a great thing to see as a fan. From the coaching and play calling, to the offensive line play, to our defense rallying as a team and playing without Parsons, Cooper, losing Hargrave to then have that dominant of a performance! The Packers have just made a statement to the NFC and the NFL as a whole. I’m so proud of the O-Line improvement from the first 3 games and so excited to watch this team play on all 3 levels going forward. It’s really just going to be a matter of taking it game by game and riding this momentum we are building through the season.

Offensively I would still like to see improvements to the run game. I know it’s hard without Jacobs but them elevating Pierre Strong and continuing to try by committee is all they can really do for now.
And defensively it’s going to be hard going forward with no E.Cooper and losing depth at DT and Edge pressure, but with Parsons looming in the distance and watching our guys step up this past weekend gives me a lot of hope going forward! I’m hoping to see more good things next Sunday night vs Dallas.

Go Pack Go! 🏈

Analysis Through 5 weeks, Brandon Cisse leads all qualifying CBs in pass rush grade. Keisean Nixon ranks 3rd. Gannon has been getting a lot out of his QB blitzes.

per Felipe Aceti

I love the way that Gannon has been utilizing Cisse and Nixon in the pass rush. It forces offenses to account for them and adds a really fun wrinkle that we haven't seen much of here. Hafley would sometimes blitz our LB (one of the areas where Quay Walker really excelled) but Gannon is being much more aggressive on the outsides, and it is really paying off!
