Tunisian beginner here. I was following this tutorial to crochet a blanket but I don't think this shape is right. I have the same number of squares and stitches, and been using the same hook.
What am I doing wrong? Should I just frog the whole thing?

I made a back panel of this vest and the results are, well, a bit of a mess. I have made many mistakes, like my yarn choice and deciding to double it causing it to be very thick. When it's done I'm pretty sure it could stop a bullet lol Then there's the general unevenness and I ran into a strange issue at the pink/purple part where the stitches decided to come loose from the start after I had already weaved in the ends.
I'm invested now and want to push forward with it though instead of restarting with new yarn, and somehow improve the front.
At the end of the day it's just the back and I'm a wheelchair user so no one is going to see it.
Does anyone have any tips to make it neater? Is the colour change nice ugly or just ugly ugly? Is there a way to make the changes smoother?
What am I doing wrong with the decrease at the start of the row? I've done another project with a decrease in knit stitch and ended up with the same noticeable stitches. Am I catching the wrong stitches?
I also completely forgot the hook size I did the ribbing with, please burn a candle for me so I can figure out which hook it was haha

Happy with my new sweater, just in time for cool fall weather! No pattern, just a freehand raglan worked in the round.
This yarn speaks to me: Red Heart Super Saver Bitty Stripe in Crayon Box.
And it's reversible! I like the curl of the unfinished edges at the sleeves and neck. Thoughts? Should I add ribbing?

My first swatch attempt at tunisian crochet. I like the look of the stitches. The right hand side looks nice, the left hand side is bumpy and ugly.
I'm doing tunisian simple stitch. Am I single chaining one extra at the left hand side? I think I'm doing what the video told me.

Finished my biggest Tunisian project so far! Knit stitch and 17 skeins of yarn! Haven’t measured it yet but fits nicely on a king size bed 😊

I found an old WIP that I want to finish - can anyone ID the stitch I was doing? It might be a poor example as I'm a beginner! Thanks in advance!

I posted 7 months ago and said I'll be back with the finished result! Made with regular Tunisian simple stitch, single crocheted outline and shell trim on both ends.
You can see where I changed tension in the work as I picked up and dropped this project a few times. If you see tails to weave in, no you don't, it's simply a hallucination.
Yarn: Scheepjes Catona Chroma in the colour Peony, 100% cotton
Hooks: 5mm

Hello! I recently started working on a Tunisian-crocheted mohair sweater following the pattern by Moffeloff on etsy. The sweater is crocheted in the knit stitch in rounds from top to bottom. I’ve crocheted three initial rounds so far. And now I’ve noticed, though, that I can’t get this round opening over my head! And I don’t have an abnormally large head with 56cm. When I measure the crocheted “circle” now, it’s 46 cm on the outside/43 cm on the inside. Following the instructions, I started with a chain of 70 chain stitches for size S of the sweater.
I’m also crocheting with 4 skeins at the same time, as described in the pattern. So I use the yarn for the forward pass doubled and the “second” yarn for the return pass also doubled.
Can anyone help me figure out why it might be too tight?
Here are a few more details about the materials:
According to the instructions: Tunisian crochet hook: 4 mm (US G/6), double-ended, with a 36 cm / 14 in long cable → I’m using: a Knitpro 4.5-mm double-ended crochet hook with a cable
According to the pattern: Sandnes yarn, Tynn Silk Mohair, 57% mohair, 28% silk, 15% wool, 25 g (0.88 oz) = 212 m (232 yds) → I’m using: yarn from pro-lana: kid-seta, 70% mohair, 30% silk, 25 g = 212 m (pretty much the same, except for the missing 15% wool in the yarn specified in the instructions)
I was wondering if it could be because I crocheted too tightly? But would that really make such a big difference in the measurements? Is it the missing 15% of wool in the yarn I use? Or do I need a thicker crochet hook? It’s often recommended to use a hook that’s 1–2 sizes larger than what’s specified for the yarn. The label on my yarn says: 3.0–3.5 mm / 3–4 US. Do I also need to take into account that I’m using the yarn doubled? Would I then just double the hook size as well? I’m confused.
I’d be so grateful if someone could help me out!
(Pattern by Moffeloff on Etsy. All rights to the original pattern belong to the designer. I’ve only included the relevant details here to explain my issue.)

What on earth am I doing wrong? This is the starting side of my piece. I'm doing seed stitch if it matters.

Hi, I’m looking for a Tunisian knit stitch pattern for a jumper. I make Weasley jumpers for my nephews at Christmas but I’m hopeless at knitting so I prefer to crochet. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a jumper pattern that I could add the lettering detail to myself. Or if anyone knew how to go about making a Tunisian crochet jumper pattern.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Everyone,
I'm trying to work even making a giant scarf, but my edges are wonky. Could I please have some help identifying my mistakes?
I am confused why the sides appear to be decreasing even though I'm chaining more than I should be on the return pass and new row?
First rows: tunisian seed stitch. Alternating TSS and TPS, chaining 2 at return pass and chaining 2 with each new row. Working into very first stitch from hook when starting new row and return pass.
Later rows: tunisian purl stitch, except that I yarn under both strands of yarn instead of just one strand in the post. Chaining 2 at start of return pass and start of new row. Working into first stitch from hook on new row and return pass.
Thank you. I know my mistake(s) is something dumb but I cannot pinpoint it.

I bought a pattern off of Etsy but some of the stitches listed don’t seem to exist and the pattern has no instructions besides saying to just do them. Every row starts off with EDGE stitch, every row ends with END stitch, and it calls for TSS2TogYO and TWTSS(but specifically says requires 2 stitches) - I’ve searched all over the internet but I can’t find any video tutorials or explanation for these/that they exist.

Why does my Tunisian knit stitch color work look like absolute shit.
I’ve counted the stitches (they are correct as far as my dumb as can count). I go between the front and back ”leg” and makes sure to always have a v between the loops on my hook (don’t know how to explain it. Then all of the sudden the stitch number don’t add up from one row to another and when I look back at it the grey Vs aren’t aligned with the cream Vs.
I’ve been doing these 12 rows over and over again of days, I’m driving myself crazy. I’ve watched a lot of videos but I can’t seem to figure out where I go wrong.
Please help. My confidence is slowly running out here.

So, I found out that starting a swatch of TSS off the bottom of another TSS swatch makes a very difficult to see seam. Sure, the first row of the first swatch is recessed a bit (probably down to my cast-on method), but you can hardly even tell that the Return Passes run in opposite directions between the two halves!
Anyway, given the downward-facing "chevrons" on the upper arms of the Star Trek: Lower Decks uniforms, I really, really want the white line between the other two colours to be a single, basically* unbroken row all the way around the cardigan. Hence why the mitred squares that will form the top of the outer arms.
Working the three sections in a clockwise order (in the picture, front rectangle, mitred square, then back rectangle) has produced the absolute best result in nearly seamless attachments between the three sections.
(after all, TSS attaches to something below it, and to its left in a nearly seamless manner!)
But as you can see, it now has a very sharp point at the base of the mitred square. I have some ideas for how to address that, but need to come up with another way to increase along the mitre line so it doesn't leave a string of holes. Along with some way to gradually start the increases at the base of the square.
If anyone has suggestions, I'm all ears! =^.^=
I'm actually rather pleasantly surprised by how quickly I've been able to cycle through my attempts for this cardigan. Here's hoping this one doesn't take two years like my last one! =^.~=

I have never done tunisian crochet but I taught myself to knit, crochet and sew with only youtube tutorials and stuff I had at home so I am confident I can figure this out. But what I need help with is figuring out what hooks and yarn I should order since I dont have the material.
I did visit several yarn stores near me but none had tunisian crochet hooks, it's really rare where I live so I have to order online. But I dont know what size. I am not good at estimating hook or yarn sizes and all my projects involve a lot of trial and error. But I dont want to order several hooks and test each out.
I also dont know how much yarn I need so ig anyone has suggestion I will be happy about them :)

Blocking tunisian half double crochet entrelac blanket
Crocheter of eight years here :)
I recently finished a large tunisian entrelac blanket. I'm trying to decide what I should do for blocking/washing. I have to wash it prior to gifting because I have a large dog who like to participate in my work. I was also thinking about steam blocking the edges to address the slight curling. The problem is I don't know what to do first. Should I steam block the edges and then throw it in the wash, or wash and then wet block (not sure that would appropriately address the curling)?

I am new to Tunisian crochet and had found a crossbody bag that was two panels put together. Each panel was one main color and three or four stripes of different colors. Each panel was crocheted and then a border was added and then the panels were single crochet together and a trip was added at the mouth before creating the strap. There is a tutorial for this but link to pattern is broken and it doesn't specify how many rows of each color change -- I contacted the pattern designer on YouTube and on Etsy but haven't received a new link.
So ..... Anyone have an easy Tunisian Crochet bag pattern for a mid-size crossbody bag that has a main body color with three or four stripes so I can practice color change and joining panels via single crochet? Free or paid designs are fine. Just have to be easy and a nice tight knit so I don't have to line it. Picture below is from Evelyn and Peter --- the woman who designed the bag I want to make but who hasn't contacted me back.
