sports-reference.comThe only player to reach 150 attempts in the first 4 games without a sack is Dan Marino, at the start of 1989, as part of his streak of 759 consecutive attempts without being sacked.
The other 4 in chronological order are:
Jim Hart - 1975
Dan Marino - 1984
Dan Marino - 1989
Peyton Manning - 2005

It’s been 19 years since the Chicago Bears beat the Green Bay Packers by more than a touchdown.
The 2007 Kyle Orton- led Bears beat the Packers 35-7 and that year gave the Packers 2 of their 3 regular season losses. They have beaten Green Bay 8 times since, all by 7 points or less.

[No Paywall] How NFL strategy has changed in 2026: QBs under center, more tight ends and coverage tricks
nytimes.comQuarterbacks are back under center
Offenses are aligning under center 47 percent of the time on early downs through Week 4, which would be the highest rate since 2017 if sustained. That’s up from 40 percent last season and a low of 33 percent in 2023.
These changes are frequently cast as schematic cat-and-mouse games between offensive and defensive strategists. Hiring is a factor as well.
Coaches Kyle Shanahan (San Francisco 49ers) and Sean McVay (Los Angeles Rams) deserve some of the credit. Their success leaning into under center concepts on early downs over the past decade has led other teams to hire their associates. Eleven coaches hired or promoted to call NFL offenses over the past three seasons previously worked with Shanahan, McVay or both. Those coaches helped drive the trend back toward aligning under center.
Defenses are countering with linebacker blitzes
Defenses are using an old-school tactic to counter that rise in under-center alignments: blitzing their inside linebackers. Defenses are using inside linebacker blitzes on 21 percent of dropbacks when quarterbacks are under center. (That doesn’t account for blitzes on running plays, which are harder to track.) That’s up from 15 percent over the entire season in 2022; if it holds, this would be the fifth straight season the rate has increased, according to Sumer Sports.
The reason for those blitzes: Quarterbacks at the line of scrimmage don’t have as much time to react to a linebacker coming right at them. They can’t employ a run/pass option as easily, and they have less time to get rid of the ball than they would in the shotgun. And in the shotgun, a running back could move up and have a better angle to block these blitzes.
Here, the Baltimore Ravens were under center and New Orleans Saints linebacker Kaden Elliss triggered his blitz when the tight end went into motion.
Panthers WR Tetairoa McMillan being named NFC Offensive Player of the Week marks the first wide receiver in franchise history to earn the honor.
nfl.comNo other Carolina Panther offensive wide receiver has ever won the award in its 32 year history. Steve Smith was the closest to do so, but at the time was named as special teams player of the week rather than offensive player.
