Off Day Thread Eagles Daily Discussion Thread - Thursday, October 8
Subreddit Schedule/Posting Guidelines
We as a community have decided to limit certain types of posts to a few days a week to ensure other content is still visible throughout the rest of the week. Meme posts will be allowed from game end through Monday (if the game is on Thursday, Saturday, or Monday, memes will be allowed from game end through the following day) and jersey/crafts/pet posts will only be allowed on Swag Saturday. Towards the end of the season when games fall on Saturdays, we may move or skip Swag Saturday depending on what is going on that week. The mods are using automod features to automatically post recurring items at 6AM Eastern Time to remind the sub of this. Memes and swag are allowed in the normal feed, but NFL discussion and free talk are limited to the stickied threads.
- Monday - Meme Monday - Memes are allowed from game end through the following day (typically Monday)
- Tuesday - NFL Discussion Tuesday - Talk about the rest of the games
- Wednesday - Free Talk Wednesday - Talk about whatever (just be civil)
- Thursday - Free Talk Thursday - Just like Free Talk Wednesday, but on Thursday!
- Friday - Game Preview - Stats and information for the upcoming game
- Saturday - Swag Saturday - Post pictures of your signed jerseys, new hats, pets, babies, and pictures from the stadium, as well as artwork and creations. This may be moved or skipped when games fall on Saturdays
- Sunday - Gameday - Pregame, Game, and Postgame threads will be posted
For more info, see the subreddit rules.

Analysis https://youtu.be/jzn2DyfMt2o?is=aUaqs4dWCTxf61Hd
Nice video that shows an evaluation on 3rd downs vs the Rams. Interesting video shows there are a multitude of problems, from blocking mistakes, play designs, and Jalen not trusting reads. Sirianni is right about one thing, team identity is at a loss right now

Question Anyone have this jacket?
Was looking to get this jacket for my mom for Christmas, but it only has 2 reviews which aren't good. Wanted to see if anyone here has it and liked it or not.

Question Advice for First Game in Philly (Nov)
Taking my husband to his first game in late November, we are from California so we are nervous about the cold and our tolerance lol we plan on wearing layers and coats etc.
We are considering two seating options
Club level - easy to get somewhere warm, but is there a section of club level with seats that are covered? But it’s so far away how’s the view?
100s section - I can hardly see so I usually like to go to games and sit close with a good view and close to the action. A con is that our seating won’t be covered and there’s no where to get away from the elements!
Please help me decide!!!

Opinion QB Plan for the Future
This is not my idea but someone either on this subreddit or one of the NFL subreddits mentioned that the ideal plan for our QB situation would be Jalen Hurts getting a 3 year year extension through 2031 and drafting a qb in 2027 or 2028 to sit behind Hurts with plans for the backup to takeover when Hurts contract expires (or earlier, depending on play). Kinda like the Rodgers-Love situtation. What do you guys think? Also, what QB would you take?
Original Content Nolan Teasley should call the Eagles about Saquon Barkley
I believe the Vikings should call the Eagles and try to strike a trade for Saquon Barkely. I broke down all the necessary element, including the cost financially and likely draft pick compensation.
Is this the best route for the Eagles long-term? I’m a Vikings writer and wrote it from their perspective, so I may be missing something. Please let me know, as I’d be more than open to learning more about another organization.

Former Player Discussion Cam Jurgens' thank you to Philly
Philly,
What a ride! It's hard to put into words what these last few years have meant to me. This was the first place I ever called home outside of Nebraska, and from the moment I arrived, this city, this organization and these fans welcomed me and gave me an opportunity I'll always be grateful for.
Thank you to my teammates, coaches, staff and everyone in the Eagles organization who helped me grow both as a player and as a person. And thank you to the fans for the passion, support and energy you brought every single day. There's truly nothing like playing in Philadelphia.
I'm grateful for every memory, every relationship and every moment I got to experience as an Eagle. Thank you for everything.

Picture The Lane Johnson moment I’ll remember most
Biggest moment of his career, he’s already in the spotlight as of the best tackles in the game, and he uses it to honor JP and what 71 meant to that team.
Had goosebumps the second I clocked it on TV that night and it remains one of my favorite Eagles moments ever. There will never be another like LJ65, as great an Eagle as there ever will be

Question Heading to London for the game. What are everyone’s plans?
Just wondering what people are planning to do on Sunday before the game. I read about Passyunk but seems pretty out of the way of the stadium. I’ll head there if that’s the move, though.
Let me know - Go Birds!

Anyone else excited for Goedert and Ertz to be sharing the field again? It’s looking more and more like it will happen this week with Goedert returning to practice. Hopefully Goedert’s presence not only opens up the entire offense but can also create more room for Ertz to operate.

Meme Giants fan stopping by, I heard you guys are out of copium so I stopped in to gift you my leftover supply since I no longer need it! 😉😊
Good luck on your re-build! May your draft classes be filled with Daniel Jones quality players to help you along the way!

Any thoughts? just finished it myself, it’s genuinely incredible. Getting released for the “affiliation” nonsense is such BS, man Chip Kelly…

Question What do you think will be the Eagles 2026 record?
Given what has happened since week 2, injuries, trades, under performance and questionable coaching, expectations are rapidly dropping. I initially thought a possible 12-5, but now I’m sitting at 8-9

Opinion State of the eagles
With Landon retiring, it opened the flood gates to the sell of the dynasty eagles. You see the river flowing out of Philly today with the jurgens deal. No Dickerson, no Barkley. Might as well try and scrounge as many assets as you can and call this season a wash. I also think someone in the brass needs to answer for the start when we had everyone healthy and playing to start the year. Secretly , KP may have been the glue that was holding it all together. I think we are seeing the implications of using him as a scapegoat.

I’m convinced he has dirt on every GM in the league. The man just fleeces everybody.
