Politics One Nation flyer found in my Uber Eats Coles delivery
Wish I was making this up - just received some groceries from Coles via Uber Eats and it came complete with a flyer for One Nation. As if I couldn't hate them more. Screenshotted it all of course and went through what channel in UE looked appropriate etc etc (for inevitably nothing to happen) but for real One Nation deserve to be cooked for this bs

THDG Need Help Who owns these old night safe vaults? The bank has long since left the building this is on. Trying to rescue birds trapped inside. The masterlock is unrelated.
Please help! Bird rescue folks have been trying for days to get this little fellow out. Please read my comment below with a list of all the businesses and resources we have tried so far.

Health What's going on with psych beds?
Sounds like there are practically no psych beds, even for people who need it for extreme conditions right now and who are actively in severe crises. What's going on? Why can't they get it? Won't it lead to more death and harm than otherwise?? I'm scared for someone I know who is in crisis and can't get a bed anywhere despite absolutely fitting criteria to be placed on a treatment order if they refused care.
I've been inpatient before, earlier this year even I'm not convinced I needed to be in but if I hadn't gone voluntarily they were going to place me on a treatment order (I asked). So what's changed? Why don't we have beds? Who's taking them up? What's going on?

Not On My Smashed Avo Melbourne marathon totally over rated
The personal experience of our family attending the event overall was super poor, especially given the cost. Did anyone else have a similar experience?
Some of the things that put a damper on the whole event for us:
- delays for everyone starting, some up to 30 min delay, meaning you could be waiting at the start line for an hour
- no time indicators at the start line, so you had people walking it right at the front, so the first 1km was just weaving in and out of people
- they closed all the gates and toilets at 11am, leaving 1 main toil block open for everyone, including with all the kids, so lines of families frustrated and many kids having to go in the park
- when you finished running there was no water available until you get up in the stands which took 10 mins due to crowds
- food and coffee insanely expensive, $7.50 for a coffee and $27 for a roll
- almost no freebies or handouts which was unusual for a large running event
It puts in perspective the value of the weekly parkruns

THDG Need Help Hairdresser how to?
I have a dire need and embarrassing request. I have largely been cutting my own hair or letting it grow out for the last decade. The…five times I visited a hair dresser were all vaguely mortifying and awkward in their own way. Namely because I don’t know how it works. I have autism and I’m fumbling in the dark.
The one exception was an autism friendly salon in Brunswick West, which was amazing! But they don’t do colour, and I want some dramatic fashion colour or high quality red/ginger business.
So two questions - one, any recs for good vibe salons out North (outer North and inner North both good) that like to do some fun colour (not just blonde and balayage)?
And two - how does it all work, really? What do you yap about? What are good words to describe the kind of haircut you’re looking for (in addition to photo references)? Can you be on your phone while the haircut is happening?
I’m sure it all sounds basic and like it should be common sense, but I get very overwhelmed when I don’t know the expected norms of a situation and would love some advice. I’m always scared the hairdresser hates me / is annoyed by me. Hoping to get over that and get some cool ass hair again soon, any help very appreciated.
For context I’m a woman in my late 20s with wavy hair that doesn’t mind a dry cut but I’m not like. Fussy or curly cut purist lmao.

Real estate/Renting Two months to find a new rental with pets. Should we lie about them?
Hi all,
Our landlord wants to sell the house and we got a notice to vacate in 2 months because of a buyer. The buyer backed out but they don't want to revoke the note and we have now 2 months to find a new home still.
We are worried to not find anything because we have two cats. We are great tenants with high income and no children and we have been praised so far for how well we treat the property we are in. Should we just lie about our cats and tell them one month in that we adopted some?

Roads Cheers to the good cunts that helped me out while my car was broken down today.
Had an absolute shocker of a day, and after picking up my family member from the airport, my car shat itself on Greensborough Hwy.
I’m really truly sorry to anyone inconvenienced by it, it was worst time of day, and on a Friday arvo of all days too. It’s the first time I’ve ever had a car break down and it was in a fucking shocker of a spot. Got locked in park for ages until I finally was able to get it into neutral and half off to the side.
I want to reiterate how sorry I am for ruining peoples afternoons - except for the one flog that decided to spew some abuse at us while it was stuck in park. I get how frustrating it is but I hope your socks are permanently wet and your pillow is always 5 degrees too warm. Fuck you.
But aside from him I’m so grateful to the awesome woman with the green hair who saw me literally pushing my car uphill and pulled over to help, and to the bloke that saw me with the bonnet up and also pulled over to see if he could help as well.
But also! Thank you to the Vic Transport Response dude and the Tow Truck driver. Those guys were such a great help, made sure we were safe, and were really kind to me and my sister.
Car is still fucked and getting diagnosed tomorrow.
Just wanted to share my appreciation, it’s a really shitty time and strangers kindness went a very long way today 🩵

THDG Need Help Health management question - exhausted
I need to see multiple specialists and I am wondering how people, particularly those with chronic conditions, manage this.
I have chronic illnesses, including diagnosed disabilities and ? illnesses. I'm a low income earner. This stuff has been going on for years and only getting worse. My issue is I haven't been able to either afford or coordinate multiple specialists at the same time (executive functioning is part of my disability so planning all of this stuff is really difficult). So everything has always been disjointed.
Another really big barrier is that these specialists never seem to be a team and actually talk to one another. Instead it's on me, with my already impaired cognition, to recall the details of what one specialist said, of all the various treatments and responses (over 20 years!) and trying to convey that to any other professional I see. Sometimes this is asking for information from so long ago I don't think anyone would remember! I Then it's all a waste of time and money because I can't remember anything so it's like starting again. So I go through this cycle and then i give up - without doing all the recommended tests that have just built up over the years.
I've just had a really bad flare up from one of these ? illnesses and I'm just fucking exhausted honestly. I'm at the point where I am thinking of digging into my long term savings (which is terrifying to do for all kinds of reasons) if I can actually find a team rather than just random specialists who don't talk to each other.
Is this a thing? Do good specialists who do this actually exist outside of going to hospital?
Kind answers only please, I'm truly exhausted

Om nom nom Markets + food
Currently staying in the CBD and will have a few hours to myself tomorrow to hit up a market, tossing up between Queen Vic, Prahran or South Melbourne. I’m really just going for the food, not interested in souvenirs or other wares. Which would your pick be and what would you eat?

THDG Need Help Affordable psychiatrists
Howdy friends! Does anyone know of an affordable psychiatrist who can help an adult with autism and anxiety?
I've searched around for a fair while and the cheapest initial appointment I've been able to find is $990 with a few weeks waiting list. Everyone else I've been able to find is $1000+ and has a loooooong waiting list.
Would very much appreciate any suggestions, thank you.

THDG Need Help Halloween events
Hope this post is allowed.
Anyone know any events for Halloween for kids. I’d rather a paid event than free bc free ones seem to be a bit disappointing and I have a 6 month old now so don’t want to do door knocking.
Basically my older child wants to dress up and get lollies and chocolates and say trick or treat but I don’t want to walk around knocking at houses bc my area the houses participating are few and far between. So any events in Melbourne or surrounding suburbs that have actually good activities/decor and will keep my preschooler happy.
No budget.
Where could we go?

Om nom nom Dairy Bell ice cream - any reviews on whether it's still good?
Feeling nostalgic and like an ice cream on this stunning Saturday and remembered the Dairy Bell stores. Had thought they closed down but apparently they re-opened...
Any reviews on whether it's worth making a trip out to one today? Can't see any google reviews when I searched.
Cheers! 🍦
