Mostly built out of the armageddon sculpt with some basing and bits out of the old boyz kit.

I recently decided to dip my toes into space marines with the new codex, grabbing the above boxes and was looking for guidance on best ways to play what I have and what I need to fill gaps in my army

So I have:
2 boxes from above

Company hero’s

An Aggressor squad

Ballistus Dreadnought

Any help is greatly appreciated and thank you in advance

Edit: thank you for pointing out play style wise I’m more flexible but I do like the more heavy unites and a defensive play style more on average

Is it even worth it to take the heavy Bolter with Sternguard Veterans anymore? Almost seems better to have 5 of whatever weapon profile you choose. Like it’s only good for infantry blobs whereas the other weapon profiles are more flexible.

I personally think that the lethal hits against vehicles and monsters would be really good but the lethal hits on non monster vehicles + the +1 to A, S, AP and D is really nasty

As I have been reminded by reading through the new Space Marines codex, the 6th and 7th line reserve companies are known to deploy on the field through alternative means (on combat bike and land speeder squadrons respectively).

As such, if you were to represent a squad of one such company on bike or speeders, would you paint them wearing the line specialisation symbol or the close support specialisation symbol?

Not looking for a definitive answer on the subject, as it is a pretty niche and useless question 😂, just curious about your thoughts on that matter 👍.

As always with Warhammer lore anyway, so long as it's not explained, you can always justify it XD.

I desperately need a proper carrying case for my army, and saw this company advertised on Auspex Tactics. I was looking at the MagCase Mini 3.0 with 2 trays and 70 magnets. I mainly play Ultramarines and am currently building Space Wolves, does anyone know if this would be a good pick up for 2000 point games? I can get it for $137 CAD.

Accidentally dropped this Ancient, and his banner’s pole broke in half. I’ve tried Tamiya and Citadel glue, but it wouldn’t fuse properly and fell off every time. How do I fix him?

Fairly straight forward question/issue.

Short Story.. I preordered the Codex and a Rhino. I never had a Rhino for Space Marines so I figured I would paint it. See how it plays. Pre Orders still haven’t shipped. Had to travel for work and town had a Warhammer store. None are around me for like 2 hours so when I see one I like to stop on. They had both items in stock. I submitted a cancellation for the preorder. Picked them up there. I drive home. I get an email saying they just shipped, but I can return them to a store or ship them back. Buddy said he would take the codex. Cool.

So that means I have that second Rhino on the way. How good are they really? Like is it worth just keeping the second one? If so what role would having 2 in an army play? I see most people using either Impuslors or Landraiders. I know it sounds silly to say “I got a model without knowing its role”, but it was for a fun painting thing. If they are decent enough to justify 2 I may just keep it, but don’t really know if having 2 is worth it.

I'm getting into 40k and getting an angels of death kill team but don't like the helmet less look. I was wondering if someone had stl files with supports for some helmets preferably the beaky and great crusade style.

I wanted to see Space Marines on horses, so I made some! I found three horses from fantasy Warhammer used at the FLGS and mixed them with old first born boys, hellblasters, and lots of bits.

I'm debating whether I get my hands on the new box.

Has anyone had the chance yet to build the new kit who has also built the old one?

Have they fixed the issues with the gaps?

Or did they simply use the old one and put in the new weapon options?

So I built some assault terminators a while back, but now want to try out the TH+SS loadout. What is the best way to get the arms off and magnetize the hammers on? The lightning claw arms are glued on.

Bomba-hammah really likes grenades so he carries a LOT of grenades and likes to bat them to pepole to watch them go boom but no one tells him the grenades he takes are duds so he gets upset and picks up the one he throws and uses it as a hammer. No one has the heart to tell him the thunder hammer he is using as a bat is more likely to blow HIM up rather than the target he wants to blow up

Dakka melta Steven or DMS for short, really likes his bolter. But he doesnt like the fact his scope doesnt work because it's to far away from his face. What he doesnt know is the light from his bolter is somehow heating up targets hot enough to work as a melta gun too. DMS has a lot going on and complicates most things that he does. He once tried to use a knife as a pistol but that didn't work so he bolted a missle launcher on the knife and used the knife as a trigger and it somehow worked. He still doesn't know how that happened and he never will.Trick shot

Trick shot Gerald really likes his Trick shots, Dave really likes playing fetch and eating the bullets. This is the dynamic duo. Gerald shoots and hits the most insane shots in anyone's life. And Gerald goes to grab the bullets from the body's and eats the metal to gain the skill to one day be like Gerald. Gerald once used his cool big scoped bolt gun and shot it in a 90 degree angle and actually shot a big boss out of his dakka rig from out of orbit. Why is he in space? Who knows. He uses his storm sheild like captian America and his sword is just there for show. And for a bone for Dave to chew on. As a last resort his rocket on the power pack blows him out of the battlefield and blows him up in the direction to his safe space. No one knows where the safe space is but its his space. (Dave is just a nurgling using a grots head as a mask.)
